Version 0.2 adds a native setup launcher and the first settings pass, plus the controller and New Game renderer fixes.
What's new
- Import your retail PC game folder through Files; check startup files and select Play.

- Controller visibility: Automatic, Always show or Always hide. Hidden controls also stop accepting touch input.
- Horizontal/vertical touch-camera sensitivity and invert-Y preference.
- Optional compact FPS and average frame-interval display.
- Basic logging by default; opt into Detailed for performance samples and bounded traces.
- Export a diagnostic report or clear logs with confirmation.
- Back up and export existing save slots without replacing the originals.
- Settings reset preserves saves, game data and custom button layouts.
- App icon for iPhone/iPad.
- Includes IndecentDad's physical-controller visibility fix and the MGL texture-deletion fix for the New Game/front-end crash.
Downloads and installation
Simpsons-Hit-and-Run-iOS-0.2.ipa is an unsigned arm64 iPhone/iPad build, version 0.2 (build 2), targeting iOS 15.0 or later. Sign it with your own Apple account using a compatible sideloading tool. This is not an App Store or universally signed IPA.
No retail game files are included. This is the PAL/EFIGS PC-data build. Import your own compatible installed retail PC game folder using the launcher, or transfer it into Documents/game through Files/Finder. Console ISOs and ZIP import are not supported.
Install over the existing app using the same signing identity/bundle identifier to retain its data. Back up your saves first. Deleting the app also deletes its local game data and backups.
The inspected IPA contains the executable, dependencies, touch-control artwork, app icon and release documentation. It contains no game_assets folder, retail game archives, save slots or embedded signing profile.
- Source code (zip / tar.gz): GitHub's archives for this tag, below.
- Release-Documentation-0.2.zip: installation, launcher/settings guide, controls, credits and dependency notices; also included in the IPA.
- ffmpeg-6.0.tar.xz: unmodified source for the statically linked FFmpeg dependency. Build options are in ios-project/build-ffmpeg.sh.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for the uploaded packages.

Validation and limitations
Device and simulator Release builds passed. Automated checks cover settings policies, value clamping, frame-rate measurement, diagnostic filtering/clearing, persistent-log concurrency/rotation, startup-file validation and the texture-deletion regression. Simulator UI checks covered settings persistence, diagnostic export, and byte-for-byte save-backup copying with the original retained.
The user confirmed FPS display and controller visibility on iPhone 17 Pro Max / iOS 27.2 beta. Prior user retests confirmed game-folder import and that the New Game crash no longer occurred. Broader devices/data editions, longer sessions and full-story completion remain unverified.
The FPS display measures game frame submissions and average frame interval, not GPU execution time. Basic versus Detailed logging has not been performance-benchmarked. Save restoration is manual through Files; there is no automatic restore button in this release.
This unofficial iOS adaptation builds on Carlox33's Android port and ZenoArrows' earlier platform ports. See the included credits and third-party notices.
