Which file do I need?

Console File
Old 3DS / Old 2DS G-Diffuser-3DS-O3DS-v1.0.0.zip
New 3DS / New 2DS XL G-Diffuser-3DS-N3DS-v1.0.0.zip
New 3DS / New 2DS XL, with the Expansion Kit disk G-Diffuser-3DS-N3DS-EK-v1.0.0.zip

The Expansion Kit build is New 3DS only for now, and needs the retail Japanese
64DD disk image (baserom.jp.ek.ndd).

Each zip contains the .3dsx (Homebrew Launcher), the .cia (HOME menu install) and a
README on where your own extracted game data goes. The loose .3dsx/.cia/.elf
files and SHA256SUMS below are the same builds, unpacked.

G-Diffuser 3DS v0.9.0

Choose a tag to compare

@cruxxxxxx cruxxxxxx released this 04 Sep 14:44

F-Zero X running natively on the New Nintendo 3DS / New 2DS: native 60 Hz pacing, stereoscopic 3D, full audio on the DSP, a bottom-screen touch menu, and clean HOME/sleep/power-off.

This release contains no game data. You need your own F-Zero X (USA) cartridge dump, converted on your PC with tools/prebake into the archives the console reads, and a dspfirm.cdc dumped from your own console. See the hardware guide for the SD layout, and the README's Legal section.

What is in this build

  • One-frame-ahead render thread on the New 3DS's spare core, bridge pre-pass on the main thread; 59.6 fps median over a full Grand Prix on hardware, 51.4 fps at the tenth percentile in 30-machine packs.
  • Automatic RIVAL DETAIL tier with hysteresis, manual override in the touch menu.
  • Stereoscopic 3D with adjustable strength and convergence; race position markers anchored at their ship's depth.
  • Circle Pad deadzone, range and response-curve steppers with a live pad readout (INPUT tab); optional D-pad steering.
  • Heap watch: a threshold trigger that writes a memory census to the SD log during long sessions (off unless [debug] heap_watch is set; see the hardware guide).
  • Machine-select and ship-detail screens placed correctly; render-thread texture-cache crash fixed.

Known issues

  • Heavy 30-machine packs can dip below 60 (the auto tier covers most of it; RIVAL DETAIL: MINIMAL for the rest).
  • A rarely visible tunnel-roof rendering quirk on one course.
  • Debug toggles (GPUTRACE, VERBOSE) cost frame time; leave them off to play.

Bug reports: include sdmc:/3ds/gdiffuser/log.txt (enable filelog in the DBG tab) and the build id from the STAT tab.
