Please remember
This is a development build.
It may contain unfinished features, bugs, or behavior that changes before the final public release.
Please save a known-good backup of your radio before testing.
Installation notice
This early-access installer uses my self-signed KK4OXN development certificate. During installation, you will be offered an optional setting to trust the certificate.
Selecting it prevents Windows from displaying an “Unknown publisher” warning for software signed with this certificate. Only select it if you downloaded the installer directly from this official Patreon post.
The certificate is optional—the application can still be installed if you decline.
Before programming your radio
Please save a backup of your current radio configuration. The editor also creates an automatic backup when reading the radio, but keeping your own backup is strongly recommended.
This is the first public v1.0 build, so please report any bugs or unexpected behavior in the comments. When reporting a problem, include:
RT-950 or RT-950Pro
USB or Bluetooth connection

v0.8.40
RT-950/950Pro Editor v0.8.40
This maintenance release adds persistent diagnostic logging and corrects a silent-failure problem in the GitHub update checker.
New diagnostic logging
The editor now creates a persistent application log that can help diagnose update checks, radio communication, imports, GUI errors, and unexpected application failures.
New Help menu options:
- Help > Enable Detailed Logging
- Help > Open Log Folder
Detailed logging is enabled by default and the setting is remembered between sessions.
On Windows, logs are stored in:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\RT950ProEditor\logs
v0.8.37
RT-950/950Pro Editor v0.8.37
This stable maintenance release corrects the final step of COM/USB boot-picture uploads.
Fixed
-
Corrected the boot-picture completion sequence to match the OEM Radtel CPS capture.
-
After all 150 boot-image pages are acknowledged, the editor now sends the final A5
Overframe without waiting for another response. -
Removed the misleading five-second timeout and warning that appeared after an otherwise successful upload.
-
Unexpected trailing serial data, when present, is still recorded in the boot-upload transcript for diagnostics.
-
The final factory-compatible
Overpacket remains:A5 06 00 00 00 04 4F 76 65 72 A9 5E
Previous fixes retained
- Stock configuration import compatibility for older
.datfiles. - AM modulation preservation on non-airband channels.
- Correct TX Enable/TX Lockout encoding and decoding.
- Synchronized APRS, VFO, DTMF, Optional Features, and Modulation tabs.
- Stable full-payload Bluetooth/BLE radio writes.
Boot-picture upload notes
A successful boot-picture upload will show all 150 image pages acknowledged. The radio does not send an additional acknowledgment after the final Over frame.
Power-cycle the radio after uploading to display the new boot image.
Important
- COM/USB boot-picture upload is supported.
- Experimental BLE boot-picture upload remains disabled.
- Keep a backup of the radio before writing.
- Radio operation and frequency use remain the responsibility of the operator.
