This release makes image equalization opt-in and adjusts the rgb_dispatch decorator. The equalization default change alters rendered output; see Compatibility notes before upgrading.

Image equalization is now opt-in

The equalize parameter of ansify, img2ansi, and ansi_quantize defaults to False, where it previously defaulted to True. Output is no longer contrast-equalized unless you pass equalize=True (or equalize='white_point'). Add the argument to preserve the previous default output.

rgb_dispatch takes positional argument names

rgb_dispatch accepts the color-argument names as separate positional strings, for example @rgb_dispatch('fg', 'bg'), where the previous form passed a single tuple, @rgb_dispatch(('fg', 'bg')). Applying it bare as @rgb_dispatch is also supported now.

New features

is_vt_enabled

is_vt_enabled() is a public check for whether Windows virtual-terminal processing is enabled. It was previously the internal is_vt_proc_enabled.

Changes

UserFont repr

UserFont defines a custom __repr__ and disables the generated dataclass repr, so instances print a more compact representation.
