I love this thing. I have one problem. The area where you disable the install of bloatware does not seem to work with CoPilot. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried to replicate the issue in VirtualBox and seem to run into the opposite problem: No matter what autounattend.xml settings I choose and even without any autounattend.xml file at, Copilot does not appear. I guess that Copilot will not get installed in VMs? In any case, this makes testing quite difficult.

What image (e.g. Win11_25H2_English_x64.iso) did you use to install Windows?

It looks like I must have messed up cause I tried it again and it worked just fine. Can this be used with an update from win 10 instead of fresh install. Can this be used with an update from win 10 instead of fresh install.

The primary use case is clean installations with Windows Setup launched from Windows PE. Some users have reported success with upgrade installations, but I have never really tested this. In particular, any actions performed during the PE stage (partitioning, disabling Windows Defender, removing 8.3 file names, …) will be skipped with upgrade installations.

The current schneegans unattend appears to make the following three changes, to remove Copilot.

1. Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.Copilot
2. Remove-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Ai.Copilot.Provider
3. reg.exe add "HKU\DefaultUser\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot" /v TurnOffWindowsCopilot /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f;
