Kova Screen v0.1.4

Install

Download the x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs per user,
so no administrator rights are needed, and uninstalls cleanly
through Settings › Apps.

A portable ZIP is available if you would rather not install
anything. It keeps its settings in %APPDATA%\Kova Screen.

Requires Windows 10 version 1903 or newer. The WebView2 runtime is
already present on Windows 11 and current Windows 10; the installer
fetches it if it is missing.

Verify your download

Kova Screen v0.1.1

What's fixed

• Home/Pos1 and other hotkeys stay registered when settings updates overlap.
• Region selection no longer flashes the dimmed desktop between paint passes.
• One tray icon; closing Settings keeps the capture app running.
• Compact notifications at the bottom right, hover feedback for Pause/Stop,
  and a visible outline around the recording area.
• Pauses are excluded from recording time, output timestamps and duration limits.
• GIF recording stops automatically at the size limit.
• Region screenshots respect delay and cursor settings.
• Reduced frame-copy work, bounded background uploads, and responsive manual uploads.
• Windows capture teardown no longer unloads its code while native cleanup is running.

Encoding note

Software encoding is the default for new settings. Optional hardware encoding
remains experimental because its native handle-retention issue is not fully
resolved. Existing preferences are preserved; if you previously enabled hardware
encoding, turn it off in Settings for the tested software path.

Install or update

Download Kova-Screen_0.1.1_x64-setup.exe, close Kova Screen and run the installer.
It installs per user. Existing settings and captures are preserved.

For portable use, download Kova-Screen_0.1.1_x64-portable.zip and replace your
previous portable executable after closing the app. Settings remain in
%APPDATA%\Kova Screen.

Requires Windows 10 version 1903 or newer and WebView2. The installer can fetch
WebView2 when needed. Verify downloads against the attached SHA256SUMS.txt.
