This release reworks wheel building significantly, switching to the standard maturin toolchain to build pyvoy. This allows us to easily build stable ABI wheels, and we have reworked the wheels we publish to
- Version-specific wheels for the last 3 Python versions for optimal performance (currently 3.13-3.15)
- abi3 wheels from the oldest non-EOL Python (currently 3.11)
- abi3t wheels from the oldest non-EOL Python supporting it (currently 3.15)
Note, this is the first release publishing for Python 3.15. And with stable ABI wheels, there should be no situation where pyvoy cannot be loaded on a new or unreleased Python going forward. Where needed, an sdist is also published to allow automatically building pyvoy when a Rust toolchain is available.
