Welcome to the EasyDestroy wiki!
EasyDestroy is meant to make your life easier when it comes to mass-destroying items. While Blizzard limits how many items we can destroy at a time (1 button = 1 destroyed item) this addon seeks to make your life easier by letting you determine which items in your bags should be destroyed with filters.
Destroying actions include Disenchanting, Milling, and Prospecting. Blizzard strongly limits the professions/tradeskill API. If you wish to do a "Mass Mill ..." or "Mass Prospect ..." then you should use the relevant tradeskill. This is tool is more for helping to make things easier for those types of items which do not have that option (such as older herbs and ores, and armor/weapons).
This documentation is to help you with getting to use the filter system.
EasyDestroy works by using filters to create a list of items in your bags that you can destroy.
Filters come in two types, Searches and Blacklists. A search is just that, it allows you to search your bags for items to disenchant. Any item in your bag that meets the criteria of the search will be included - with some basic exceptions filtered out by default.
There are 3 major parts to EasyDestroy. The Item Window, Filter Selection, and the Filter Editor "Configurator".
The main window shows you what items you will be destroying. The top item in the list is always the item that will be destroyed when you click the Destroy button.
This section allows you to select from the list of your saved Searches and/or Blacklists based on which boxes are checked. If both boxes are checked, the drop down menu will include both Searches and Blacklists, separated by a line with Searches on top and Blacklists on the bottom.
The Filter Editor allows you to build searches and blacklists. Searches are in real-time, changes to the filter editor window will have immediate results in the Item Window. Blacklists only work once saved. You are able to save a Search using the star icon to the right of the Filter Name in the Filter Editor.
When you are editing a Blacklist in the Filter Editor, you will see which items the blacklist will exclude from searches.
Note: You cannot currently edit Blacklists or Searches without having the relevant box checked in the Item Window. This means if you are working on a filter and mark it as a blacklist, then the Blacklists box will be checked on the Item Window.
The default filter currently:
- Only includes items that are Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic.
- Only includes items that are Weapons, Armor, Herbs, and Ores.
- Does not include Armor items that have the sub-type of Cosmetic (Note: Blizzard does not always put all cosmetic items in this classification.)
Searches allow you to find items in your bags that meet the criteria you set (a.k.a. a whitelist). Only the active search criteria in the Filter Editor window are used when filtering for items to show.
Blacklists allow you to exclude items from your bags from searches. While your current Search is the only thing you will see results for in the Item Window, all blacklists are active at all times. When you are editing a blacklist, you will see the items it is going to exclude from your normal searches.
The Item Blacklist allows you to identify individual items that should be blacklisted from your inventory. The Item Blacklist is universal, like blacklist filters. When in the Item Blacklist options window, you can click on items in the top "Items in Bags" window and add them to the blacklist. You can remove items from the Item Blacklist by clicking them in the lower "Items in Blacklist" window to remove them. You can also add an item to this blacklist by right clicking it in the Item Window and selecting "Add Item to Blacklist"
Blacklist type filters allow you to more broadly blacklist items that meet certain criteria. E.g. If you make a blacklist filter for items that are of Epic quality, then no Epic items will ever show up in your Searches.
In addition to adding items in the item window directly to the blacklist, right clicking an item in the Item Window will also allow you to temporarily ignore an item. This list is temporary, if you relog or reload your UI the list will be reset. You can also reset this list by going to the Options menu and clicking "Clear Session Ignored Items".
