statistical-area geography resolution

  • census_resolve_geography resolves metro/micro statistical areas, combined statistical areas, and consolidated cities, each named exactly as the Census API names the level (#22)
  • census_resolve_geography takes a county_fips input to pin an ambiguous tract name to one county, plus the county_scope_unsupported error and per-candidate fipsSummary on ambiguous_name (#20)
  • census_list_datasets descriptions name every geography level census_resolve_geography reaches per dataset
