Released 1/27/26, Compatible with vanilla patch 1.18.X

Here's a fun update for everyone to coincide with vanilla's 1.18.3 patch, and the two content creator DLCs released today, High Medieval Warfare Attire by JedNick and Holy Buildings by Kefir úr!

Installation Instructions

DO NOT manually download the master branch unless you know what you're doing as it is a WIP version and not necessarily stable!

  1. Go to https://github.com/cybrxkhan/VIET-Events-for-CK3/releases and find the latest version you wish to download.
  2. Extract the "VIET" folder and "VIET.mod" file from the .zip file to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\mod
  3. Launch CKIII and select VIET in the launcher.
  4. Enjoy and play!

The mod folder should look something like this:

NOTE: If you are re-installing a mod, delete the old version of the mod first before copy and pasting the new one! While it's not always necessary, it's a good habit to do to prevent any potential issues.

Changelog

New events added in this version: 25

  • Added 25 events with the following themes: 16 strawberry events & 9 events utilizing vanilla backgrounds I haven’t used much
  • Added 2 new decisions: Cultivate Strawberry Gardens and Acquire Quality Strawberries
  • VIET decisions now have ai_check_interval_by_tier for different tiers to be in line with vanilla’s recent changes
  • A few VIET decisions will now cost treasury instead of gold if you have the appropriate government
  • Changed several artifact events to now have actual NPCs appear (courtesy of DPh Kraken)
  • Disabled the Dream of the Final Journey event chain for immortal characters (for mods that have that)
  • Bonuses from Vietold.2249-2250 events reduced to 88
  • Waterskin, Knapsack, Common Pitcher, Walking Stick, and Basic Lantern artifacts now have traveling-related bonuses
  • Traveling Inkwell artifact now negates a bit of diplomacy loss
  • Decorated Broom artifact now reduces enemy hostile scheme success
  • Various miscellaneous tweaks to artifact events (mostly courtesy of DPh Kraken)
  • Miscellaneous bugfixes
