What's Changed
This version introduces exciting new changes to automatic skillchains, a skillchains editor, improvements to the Dragoon Trust and Japanese client compatibility in addition to important bug fixes. Check out the release notes for v8.3.1 for a list of other features that have recently been added.
This update may require a new job settings file for some jobs. Backups of your old job settings files will be saved in addons/Trust/data/backups folder).
If you are updating from a version before 7.8.4
The directory structure of the Trust add-on has been simplified to remove the base addons folder (previous: addons/Trust, new: Trust). When updating Trust, copy and paste the contents of trust.zip into your existing addons/Trust folder (see Setup for more details). Get help in the Cyrite Game Studios Discord.
Skillchains
Trusts now come fully equipped with a skillchain calculator similar to Flippantry and can make powerful skillchains on their own! The Skillchainer role has been streamlined to require less configuration to maximize damage while also giving you more control to perform specific weapon skills or skillchains when needed. Your Trust will even let you know which weapon skills it can use to continue the skillchain after a weapon skill has been performed!
Properties
By default, a Trust will prioritize making 3-step Light and Darkness skillchains, automatically choosing the appropriate Weapon Skill, Blood Pact or Spell to use at each step. You can customize which skillchain a Trust makes in the menu under Settings → Weaponskills → Modes → Skillchain → Properties or by modifying SkillchainPropertyMode directly.
Settings
Skillchain settings have been simplified and are now editable in the UI under Settings → Weaponskills and by using add-on commands. Your skillchain settings in your job settings file under addons/Trust/data/JobNameShort_PlayerName.lua are deprecated and will be ignored. The new settings files can be found in the addons/Trust/data/skillchains folder. Note that editing the settings file directly instead of using the UI can cause Trust not to function properly if improper syntax is used.
The following functionality has been removed or replaced:
defaultws, amws, spamws, cleavews, preferwshave been removed and will be automatically determinedstarterwsandtpwshave been removed
The following functionality has been added:
- Blacklist specific weapon skills from being used in the UI under Settings → Weaponskills → Abilities→ Combat Skill→ Blacklist
- Create, save and cycle between weapon skill settings Sets in the UI under Settings → Weaponskills → Skillchains→ Sets, allowing you to easily change Trust behavior on the fly
Editor
Trust now comes with a skillchains editor that let's you build multi-step skillchains with you and your party members using available Weapon Skills, Blood Pacts and Spells cast using Immanence. You can access the editor in the UI under Settings → Weaponskills → Skillchains. For each step of the skillchain, you can instruct your Trust to:
- Automatically determine which weapon skill to use (recommended)
- Use a specific weapon skill
- Skip a step to let a party member perform a weapon skill
Tip: it is rarely necessary to specify all steps of the skillchain. Try overriding as few steps as possible to get the desired skillchain. For example, to force a 4-step Radiance on Warrior you only need to set the first weapon skill to Full Break or Steel Cyclone and it will do the rest.
See Skillchainer for more information.
Modes
You can now see and modify skillchain-related Modes all in one place in the UI under Settings → Weaponskills → Modes, including whether to skillchain or spam, which skillchain properties to target, and whether to extend the skillchain window to give your party members time to magic burst.

Choose whether your Trust should skillchain, spam or cleave.

Choose which skillchains to make and duration between weapon skills.
