- First make sure you have Python 3.11 or newer by typing
python --versionin command prompt
(dcalc uses a feature supported only in >=3.11) - if you get something like
Python 3.13.0then you are good to go to the next step, otherwise go to https://www.python.org/downloads/ then click the Download Python 3.13.0 button and follow the installation steps to install the latest version of Python on your machine. - Scroll down to the dropdown saying "Assets"
- click on "Source code (zip)"
- The package will come up in downloads.
- Go to file explorer.
- Navigate to Downloads.
- click on
dcalc-1.0.0-alpha.3.zip - click "Extract All". (Or you can use command-line with the
unzip dcalc-1.0.0-alpha.3.zipcommand.) - Open command prompt.
- Type
cd Downloads/dcalc-1.0.0-alpha.0/dcalc-1.0.0-alpha.3/ - Type
dirorls - Make sure that there is a file called
main.py - Type
python main.py - You have launched the console calculator.
