UPSPlus Nut Driver 2.5

Pre-built binary of the upsplus NUT driver for the UPSPlus HAT (EP-0136), for Raspberry Pi (64-bit/aarch64). Supports all UPS firmware versions.

Built with:

./configure --with-linux_i2c --with-statepath=/run/nut --sysconfdir=/etc/nut --with-user=nut --with-group=nut --with-pidpath=/run/nut

What's new since 2.4

• Fixed upsdrv_shutdown() incorrectly telling the UPS not to restart on power-on; now behaves the same as shutdown.return
• Fixed sampleperiod writes being silently dropped by firmware — now written as a single SMBus word transaction instead of two separate byte writes
• Corrected the sampleperiod description text and upsdrv_help() text
• Removed dead code and corrected code comments describing the I2C sampling model

Install

1. Copy the binary into NUT's driver directory and make it executable:

   sudo cp upsplus /usr/lib/nut/upsplus
   sudo chmod +x /usr/lib/nut/upsplus
   sudo chown nut:nut /usr/lib/nut/upsplus
   

2. Add a section to /etc/nut/ups.conf:

   [upsplus]
       driver = upsplus
       port = /dev/i2c-1
   

3. Make sure /dev/i2c-1 is readable/writable by the nut user (e.g. add nut to the i2c group, or sudo chmod a+rw /dev/i2c-1).
4. Restart NUT:

   sudo systemctl restart nut-server
   

5. Check it's running: upsc upsplus
