CrossDroid v2.0.2 — safer saves + offline play

@dain98 dain98 released this 08 Jun 19:13

Mostly a saves-and-UI release — and a much safer one for your cloud save.

Saves are now version-aware and non-destructive

  • Your save is never overwritten by an older one. If you played offline (or on another device), the launcher works out which side actually changed and syncs the right way — pushing your local progress up, pulling cloud updates down, or asking you when both changed.
  • It refuses to replace a real cloud save with an empty/partial one, and keeps a local .bak of any save before replacing it. Nothing gets silently lost.

Offline play

  • Play with no internet: the launcher uses your local save and keeps you signed in (no more "login expired" just because you're offline). Your progress uploads automatically the next time you play online.
  • New "Play Offline" toggle to skip the cloud round-trip and launch instantly.

Launcher UI

  • Redesigned for landscape (two columns) so nothing gets cut off, with a darker background so the text stays readable.

Updating from v2.0 / v2.0.1 installs cleanly over the top (same signing key) — your cloud save is safe regardless.

Download CrossDroid-2.0.2.apk below and sideload it (allow "install from unknown sources").

CrossDroid v2.0.1 — first-launch save fix

Patch release.

Fixed

  • First launch didn't load your cloud save. On a brand-new install the save is now seeded into the game before it boots, so your progress loads on the very first launch — no more "play, quit, then play again" workaround. (Verified on-device: empty localStorage → save loads on the first boot.)

Updating from v2.0 (or v1.0) installs cleanly over the top — same signing key; your cloud save is safe regardless.

Download CrossDroid-2.0.1.apk below and sideload it (allow "install from unknown sources").

CrossDroid v2.0 — downloads itself

@dain98 dain98 released this 08 Jun 07:31

CrossDroid now downloads CrossCode for you. From a fresh install, tap PLAY and it signs into Steam, downloads the full game (~1.5 GB) straight from Steam's servers — the copy you own — sets up the bundled mod loader, pulls your cloud save, and boots into CrossCode. No more manual file copying.

What's new

  • 🚀 Auto-download — first run fetches the game from Steam's CDN (resumable, SHA-verified) and installs the mod loader (CCLoader3 + cc-font-fix) automatically.
  • 🧩 Handles Steam's newer Zstandard depot chunks (bundled zstd-kmp native decoder for all ABIs).
  • 🎨 New app icon (CrossCode box art).

Install

  1. Download CrossDroid-2.0.apk below and sideload it (allow "install from unknown sources").
  2. Open CrossDroid, sign in with Steam, tap PLAY.
  3. First launch downloads CrossCode + sets up mods, then plays. After that, PLAY just syncs your cloud save.

Updating from v1.0 installs cleanly over the top (same signing key); your cloud save is safe regardless.

Unofficial fan project — not affiliated with Radical Fish Games or Valve. Ships no game files; you bring your own copy that you own on Steam.

CrossDroid v1.0

@dain98 dain98 released this 08 Jun 05:25

CrossDroid v1.0 — play CrossCode on Android with Steam login and Steam Cloud saves.

Install

  1. Download CrossDroid-1.0.apk below and sideload it (allow "install from unknown sources").
  2. Copy your CrossCode game files + CCLoader3 v3.3.1-alpha + cc-font-fix to the device — see SETUP.md.
  3. Open CrossDroid, sign in with Steam (password or QR code), and tap PLAY.

Notes

  • Requires a Steam account that owns CrossCode. No game files are bundled.
  • Signed with a local debug key — fine for sideloading; uninstall any differently-signed build first (your progress is safe in Steam Cloud).
  • Unofficial fan project; not affiliated with Radical Fish Games or Valve. Built on CrossAndroid.
