Experimental settings

Experimental settings or features were introduced in #1624.
These settings may cause instabilities or may need further testing. The experimental settings may be changed or removed any time. Also, the developers won't provide much support if using them.
Generally, experimental settings are tweaks to playback that the majority of users don't need.
Note: Some of these may only be available in develop builds! See the linked pull requests for details.
