Collections - inherit permissions

Hello,

This may have been asked previously and, if so, I apologise. I have searched but cannot find a direct question addressing this issue.

I suspect this may be a Bitwarden-related matter; however, I thought I would ask here.

We have a new starter to whom I am attempting to grant access to a collection named ‘X’. However, they are unable to view any inherited sub-collections, and I cannot find a way to configure Vaultwarden to allow access to all sub-collections under the main collection.

The difficulty is that there are a large number of sub-collections beneath the parent collection.

For example:

collection X

• A
• • 1
• • 2
• • • a
• • • • 123
• • • b
• • 3
• B
• C
• D

As a result, I now have to select more than 60 collections under ‘X’ to grant access, which is extremely time-consuming.

Does anyone have a workaround for this? Otherwise, it will take me approximately an hour each time I add a new user, and this will only become more problematic as the company continues to grow.

There is no permission inheritance. The nesting happens client-side and is purely decorative. The workaround would be to enable the group function and add users to groups so you don't have to do it for each member.
