Editor prompts are answered on their own screen

Closing a file with unsaved changes, or hitting a file that changed on disk, used to raise a banner above the document. From a line halfway down the file the only way to reach it was to walk the D-pad back up through every line.

The question now takes the editor over. Nothing else is on screen while it is up, so there is nowhere for the cursor to wander, and the answer that loses no work is focused as it appears.

  • Unsaved changes: Save and close (focused), Discard, Keep editing.
  • Changed on disk: Overwrite (focused), Reload, Keep editing.
  • B dismisses either one and puts you back in the file.

Browse a game's files from its own Steam menu

Press Options on a game in the library and the menu gains a Browse local files submenu:

  • Installation folder — the game's folder under steamapps/common, on whichever drive it is installed to.
  • Compatdata folder — its Proton prefix, where saves and configuration for Windows games live.

Both open the file manager straight at the folder. The folders are resolved from the app id across every Steam library, the SD card included; a game that has never run through Proton says its prefix does not exist yet rather than doing nothing.

Install: download decky-file-manager.zip and use Decky's Install from zip.
