v0.0.4.3-testing
Pre-releaseLaunch-options handling from v0.0.4.2-testing is unchanged and confirmed working. This release is about the wiki.
What was wrong
A compatibility list that fails to download and a game that is genuinely not on it produce the same empty result — and the setup checklist printed the same sentence for both: "No wiki entry matched this game." So a network fault presented as every game in your library being unknown to the wiki, with nothing anywhere saying otherwise.
There was also no way to retry from the interface. The backend has had a refresh call since the first release and nothing ever called it.
Fixed
- The two are now told apart. A download failure says so, prints the actual error, and says plainly that it is not the same as your game being missing from the list. A game that really is not on the list reads exactly as before.
- A Try again button, on the checklist and in Settings.
- A stalled connection is retried over IPv4. The classic works-on-one-network fault is a router advertising IPv6 it cannot route: the address resolves, nothing connects, and Python's urllib has no Happy Eyeballs to fall back the way a browser does — so it waits out the timeout every time while everything else on the Deck is fine. A server that answered is not retried.
- The last-resort unverified TLS context no longer builds its own trust store. It was created with
create_default_context, which reads the system certificates — so on the one machine where that is what is broken, the fallback meant to survive it was the single construction that could throw the whole chain away. - Requests time out in 12s rather than 20s, which two attempts still fit inside.
Added
- A Compatibility list section in Settings — how many games are on the list, when it was last downloaded, and when it will not download: the error, the address, and which certificates were tried. Enough to tell a broken network from a broken plugin without opening a log.
If it still does not download
Open Settings on the main plugin page. The error there is the real one — send it over and it will say exactly which of these it is.
