1.0.3

@danielk-am danielk-am released this 07 Oct 07:57

The package now includes a changelog.txt file, in the format the WooCommerce.com Marketplace reads. The plugin's code is the same as 1.0.2 apart from the version number, so nothing changes on the order screen.

What was checked on this ZIP

  • inline-order-editor-for-woocommerce.zip, sha256 0b7caafa8cd33c6c560601cbe76b6b7c4253760a637663fd7ae9ca32338a6204, 13 files.
  • php tests/package.php, a new check of the built package: 8 of 8 pass. It fails with 5 failures on the 1.0.2 ZIP, which has no changelog file.
  • tests/run.php: 107 checks, 0 failed, on WordPress 7.1.3 with WooCommerce 11.1.2 and PHP 8.5, with HPOS. Inline Order Editor Pro 1.0.2 alongside it: 64 checks, 0 failed.
  • Plugin Check 2.1.0, all five categories: no errors, no warnings. 29 checks ran. Five runtime checks could not run in WordPress Playground.
  • Static checks with open tools, nothing found: PHPCS WordPress.Security and WordPress.DB, Semgrep's public packs, gitleaks, PHPCompatibility for PHP 7.4 and later, and PHPStan at level 2.

Not run again for this version: the older stack (WordPress 6.8 with WooCommerce 10.0), post-based order storage, and a hand click-through. The PHP, script and stylesheet are the files that were tested there as 1.0.2.

These are local checks. WooCommerce's QIT tests and its own changelog validator have not been run on this plugin.

🤖 Claude wrote the changelog file, the package test and these notes, and ran the checks above (on behalf of Daniel Kam).

1.0.2

Small code fixes found by static checks. Nothing changes on the order screen.

  • Text is now trimmed the same way on every PHP version. PHP 8.6 adds the form feed to the characters trim() removes by default, so the plugin now names the characters itself.
  • A line is now checked by its class as well as its type before it is read or changed, and the catalogue search call is guarded.

  • inline-order-editor-for-woocommerce.zip, sha256 8395d6b36811b932cc3f9c5ce54fe626f56d4299403ccc6ce8a5fafddc8a59b5.
  • Plugin Check 2.1.0, all five categories: no errors, no warnings. 29 checks ran. Five runtime checks could not run in WordPress Playground.
  • tests/run.php, 0 failed on each: 107 checks on WordPress 7.1.3 with WooCommerce 11.1.2 and PHP 8.5, with HPOS and again with post-based order storage. 105 checks on WordPress 6.8.10 with WooCommerce 10.0.6 and PHP 7.4.33 with HPOS, where the two PDF invoice checks do not run because the PDF plugin was not installed.
  • Static checks with open tools, nothing found: PHPCS WordPress.Security and WordPress.DB, Semgrep's public PHP, WordPress, JavaScript and secrets packs, gitleaks on the package and the git history, PHPCompatibility for PHP 7.4 and later, and PHPStan at level 2 with WordPress and WooCommerce stubs. Version 1.0.1 had five trim() findings, reported only when the range checked reaches PHP 8.6, and 19 PHPStan messages at level 2. It was clean for PHP 7.4 to 8.5 and at PHPStan level 0.
  • An activation run on WordPress 7.1.3 with WooCommerce 11.1.2 and PHP 8.5, and on WordPress 6.8.11 with WooCommerce 10.0.6 and PHP 7.4.33, both with HPOS: admin pages load, a guest checks out with cash on delivery, the plugin is switched off and on again, and the debug log, read from the store's first boot, has no line that a control store without the plugin does not also have. WooCommerce logs a notice and some database errors of its own on these Playground stores.

These are local checks. WooCommerce's QIT tests have not been run on this plugin. The screen was not clicked through again by hand for this version: the changes are in PHP only, and the script and stylesheet are the same files as in 1.0.1.

v1.0.1

  • Saved messages and errors now show as toast notifications at the bottom of the screen. They use the WordPress snackbar that WooCommerce's admin screens already draw and read out, with a small stand-in toast where that is not on the page. An error stays until it is closed or replaced.
  • The tip line under the order's items is gone. How to change a line is in the plugin's description.

  • The screenshot script ran the screen with real mouse and key events on the newer stack: a suggestion, a quantity changed in place, a typed item, a delivery charge, and the saved toast.
  • With scripted events: the error toast, the stand-in toast, the toast on a new order on the post-based order screen, and the toasts on the older stack.
  • Inline Order Editor Pro 1.0.0 alongside this version: its 64 checks pass on both stacks and on post-based order storage, and its discount messages show as toasts.

v1.0.0

First release.

Inline Order Editor adds three things to WooCommerce's own order screen, for shops that type in phone orders:

  • An empty row at the bottom of the order's items that adds a catalogue product, an item that is not in the catalogue, or a delivery charge.
  • Double-click editing of a line's price each, quantity and total where they stand.
  • An Order terms box, shown in order emails, on the customer's order page and on PDF Invoices & Packing Slips invoices.

See readme.txt for the full description and the limits worth knowing.

What was checked on this ZIP

  • inline-order-editor-for-woocommerce.zip, sha256 b7d74083b6273fb2ef4ef118aa3261872ea9c3d1d91be3e6dc158a3e19f54061.
  • Plugin Check 2.1.0, all five categories: no errors, no warnings. 29 checks ran. Five runtime checks could not run in WordPress Playground (enqueued_scripts_size, enqueued_styles_size, enqueued_styles_scope, enqueued_scripts_scope, non_blocking_scripts). Checked directly instead: the script and stylesheet load only on the screen where one order is edited.
  • tests/run.php: 107 checks, 0 failed, on WordPress 7.1.2 with WooCommerce 11.1.2 and PHP 8.5, with HPOS.
  • The same checks: 105 run, 0 failed, on WordPress 6.8.10 with WooCommerce 10.0.6 and PHP 7.4.33, with HPOS. The two PDF invoice checks do not run there, because the PDF plugin was not installed on that stack.
  • Post-based order storage: an earlier build of 1.0.0 passed its 100 checks there on WordPress 7.1.2, and its order screen was worked through by hand. It was not rerun on this ZIP.
  • The screen was exercised with real mouse and key events for adding, changing, the Update button, new orders and locked orders.

Not tested: a real phone or tablet, subscriptions, bookings, product bundles, tax services.
