0.1.23
GPU support
- NVIDIA RTX 50-series (Blackwell) now works with GPU acceleration. These cards crashed during separation ("no kernel image" errors). StemKit now installs a CUDA 12.8 engine for them automatically — including upgrading machines that already had the older engine (#20)
- AMD GPUs are now supported on Linux (experimental). Enable it in Settings → GPU acceleration; first use downloads a ~2.5 GB ROCm engine. Consumer cards (RX 6000/7000 series — including ones ROCm doesn't officially list, like the RX 6600) run through a compatibility mode, and the app verifies your card with a real compute test before claiming the engine is ready. If it can't run, you get a clear message and splits continue on CPU (#19)
- Windows + NVIDIA and macOS (Apple Silicon MPS) behavior is unchanged
- GPU failures now surface as readable, actionable messages instead of raw error dumps
Install notes
- First launch downloads the separation engine (~2 GB, one time); ffmpeg is bundled
- macOS: builds are signed but not notarized — if macOS refuses to open the app, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway (or run
xattr -cr /Applications/StemKit.app) - Windows: SmartScreen may warn on first run — More info → Run anyway
