v0.0.1-alpha
Stndr v0.0.1-alpha
First alpha release of Stndr — a desktop reader for Jewish texts, built with Avalonia and .NET. Downloads and caches Sefaria library data locally.
First startup — Data folder
The first time you run Stndr, a dialog asks where your Data folder should live. This folder is separate from the app itself — you can keep Stndr anywhere you like; your texts and settings go here.
Stndr stores everything it downloads (Hebrew sources, translations, and local databases) in this one folder, along with settings.json. Inside you'll find sources/ and database/. To reset downloaded content, delete those subfolders.
The suggested default is Documents\Stndr. You can accept that, pick another folder with Browse…, or type a path. Stndr creates the folder if it doesn't exist yet.
If you cancel, the app still opens, but you won't be able to download or manage texts until a Data folder is set. You can choose one anytime from the Settings tab (Change folder…).
Install (Windows)
- Download
Stndr-v0.0.1-alpha-win-x64.zip - Unzip into any folder
- Run
Stndr.exe
No installer required. The app creates a local Data folder on first run for settings and downloaded texts.
Requirements
- Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- Internet connection for downloading texts from Sefaria
Notes
- This is an early alpha — expect rough edges and missing features.
- Licensed under AGPL-3.0. Not affiliated with Sefaria.
