Fukami 1.0.0 — native port of Ridge Racer V (USA, SLUS-20002) for macOS (Apple silicon) and Steam Deck.
No game data is included. You need your own copy of Ridge Racer V (USA) as a CHD made from your disc; Fukami checks it and unpacks what it needs on first launch. Not affiliated with Bandai Namco or Sony. See
LEGAL.md.

Install
- macOS: unzip, move Fukami to Applications, then right-click → Open the first time (ad-hoc signed, not notarised yet).
- Steam Deck: in Desktop Mode extract the archive, open a terminal in the
Fukamifolder and run./install.sh(adds Fukami to Steam). Put your.chdin~/.local/share/Fukami/or pick it on first launch.
See docs/USER_GUIDE.md for controls, settings and troubleshooting.
Defaults
Internal resolution 4x (Mac) / 2x (Deck), 16:9 real widescreen, AA1 on, car LOD 4, fullscreen. VU1 and GS run on two threads (split_gs = true) and the frame pacer sleeps (pacer_spin = 0) on every platform; on a Steam Deck, a Pacer spin of up to 17 (menu → Performance) steadies the frame rate at the cost of battery.
What was verified
- Asset-free test suite 32/32 on macOS and Linux (CI, on this exact commit).
- Game code generated from the original ELF is identical to the reference hashes (1,859 files).
- The runtime of the previous pre-release (rc2) reproduced, byte for byte, the per-start RAM digests and semantic traces of the development runtime on the recorded neutral (3,000 starts) and race (5,100 starts) workloads; with the VU1/GS split on or off the digests and traces are identical on macOS.
- The Linux tarball of rc2 was run on a Steam Deck (Desktop Mode, attract loop): 6,500 starts paced at 59.83 starts/s, 10,000 unpaced at 128.7 starts/s, no worker failures. With
pacer_spin = 0the Deck misses more 20 ms frames than with 17 (about 2% against 0.9% of starts in the attract race).
Not verified / known limitations
- This build was compiled and packaged from the tagged commit; its digests and the Deck run were not repeated (the code differs from rc2 only in the default settings and the README).
- macOS: the app declares the macOS version it was built on (macOS 27.0). It will not open on older versions.
- Steam Deck:
install.sh, the first-launch CHD picker, Game Mode, play with a controller and audio were not tested on the Deck. - Pixel captures and a control of each runtime against itself were not part of the verification.
- Only the USA release is supported. No in-game controller remapping. A long live session with many cars on screen stalled once in an earlier test (a replay of it ran fine).
Provenance
Source: tag v1.0.0 (commit af253dd); the runtimes were built from this exact commit. Game code generated with scripts/fukami_generate.py from the author's ELF; reference hashes in config/rr5/.
