Removed
- Drops the heuristic that silently absorbed volume changes when macOS mapped them to a different physical volume level. Previously, hardware quantization was tolerated up to a small plateau, but that heuristic was masking real failures and it made volume tracking harder to reason about. Requests are now applied directly without second-guessing quantization boundaries. This should finally conclude the recent saga of hardware quantization fixes.
Fixed
- Fixes a resource leak where event taps weren't fully torn down when monitoring stopped.
- Prevents starting duplicate event taps. Both the brightness and volume monitors now bail out of
startEventTapif a tap is already installed.
