Boost 1.69.0 for iOS
Boost is a large, peer-reviewed collection of portable C++ libraries that both fills gaps in the standard library and serves as a proving ground for features—many of which (like smart pointers, regex, and filesystem) later get adopted into the C++ standard itself.
Precompiled Boost 1.69.0 XCFramework for arm64 iOS devices and arm64/x86_64 iOS Simulator. Includes all headers, compiled-component inventories, CMake and pkg-config metadata.
- Boost 1.69.0 upstream release page
- C++ language standard: C++17
- Minimum iOS version: 12.0
Included compiled libraries
boost_chrono— Compiled date and time duration support.boost_date_time— Compiled date/time and locale facets.boost_filesystem— Portable filesystem operations.boost_graph— Compiled Graph algorithms.boost_locale— Localization backends available without optional ICU packaging.boost_random— Compiled random_device implementation.boost_regex— Regular-expression engine.boost_system— Error-code support required by several compiled libraries.boost_thread— Portable threading primitives.boost_context— Architecture-specific fcontext implementation carried forward from the validated 1.68 configuration.
All Boost headers are included. Header-only facilities remain available even
when their related compiled library is not part of the combined static binary.
Release features and exclusions
Boost 1.69.0 was released on December 12, 2018. This package carries forward
the nine remaining baseline compiled libraries plus Boost.Context, includes the complete
updated header tree, and uses C++17.
New in Boost 1.69.0
- Safe Numerics adds header-only checked integer arithmetic that detects
invalid operations and conversions. Its headers are included, but current
Apple Clang rejects this release'ssafe_compareimplementation; dedicated
runtime coverage is deferred until a later Boost release fixes it.
Relevant updates
- Boost.Context and header-only Boost.Coroutine2 retain the validated
architecture-specific runtime coverage from Boost 1.68.0. - Legacy compiled Boost.Signals was removed upstream. The smoke suite moves to
its header-only successor, Boost.Signals2. - Boost.Beast, Asio, Filesystem, Graph, Locale, Regex, Thread, and the other
packaged or smoke-tested libraries receive their 1.69 maintenance updates. - Boost.Fiber and deprecated compiled Boost.Coroutine remain excluded until
they receive dedicated device and Simulator runtime coverage.
See COMPONENTS.md for the complete compiled-library inventory. All Boost
headers are included even when a corresponding compiled library is omitted.
