Changes since v1.0.61
Reading, navigation and gestures
Fixed zoom getting stuck so you couldn't turn the page: touches the app lost track of no longer leave the reader in pinch mode.
Pinch zoom keeps the spot under your fingers instead of jumping to the top left.
Panning a zoomed page no longer turns the page as well. In zoomed and guided mode a swipe only turns the page when the view can't move any further.
Swipes respect right-to-left reading in zoomed and guided mode too.
Guided mode: pinch no longer gets stuck at the smallest or largest size, and "next panel" across pages no longer jumps.
Vertical panning on portrait pages is no longer about 1.5× too fast.
The mouse wheel scrolls a zoomed or fit-width page first and only turns the page at the top or bottom. A touchpad swipe turns one page instead of several.
Pages can be turned right after opening a comic; before, page changes were ignored until the first save finished.
Touches on empty areas around a zoomed page now work.
Performance and memory
Pages are decoded at screen resolution and switch to full resolution only when you zoom in or need more detail. A 4000×6000 scan drops from about 96 MB to screen size.
Solid RAR and 7z archives keep nearby pages cached, so reading one is no longer slow. Non-solid 7z archives open pages directly.
Covers and Komga thumbnails are decoded in the background at a reduced size and freed when they're no longer shown.
Komga lists only create the cards that are visible and load more as you scroll.
The Library and Komga tabs keep their state when you switch tabs, and Komga no longer reconnects.
Removed forced garbage collections that caused pauses when opening and closing comics.
PDF and EPUB pages are cached on Windows too.
Komga
Downloads are much faster: they no longer run on the UI thread, which limited them to around 90 KB/s.
Fixed corrupt downloads after a dropped connection, where the whole file was appended to the part already downloaded.
Libraries with many series keep loading past the first page without scrolling or resizing the window.
The "bypass SSL validation" setting is now saved.
Custom request headers are now saved; before, they were lost on restart.
Read progress that fails to sync is retried instead of being reported as synced.
Two books with the same series and title no longer overwrite each other's download.
Series search works for names containing characters like (, [ or +.
Trial limit: Komga books are now counted correctly.
Library and import
Only solid CBR and CB7 archives are converted to CBZ, at import and after a Komga download. Other archives are kept as they are.
Converted CBZ files store images without recompressing them, which makes conversion faster.
ComicInfo.xml: fixed every second field being lost, such as Series after Title. Age ratings with "+" or spaces and fields containing markup are now read correctly, and issue numbers no longer depend on the system language.
Comics deleted from a bookmarked folder are no longer imported again, and a temporarily unavailable folder keeps its bookmark.
"Save current page" saves to Pictures/StripWolf.
Files opened from the command line or with "Open with" open reliably.
Settings and stability
Settings changed in different places at the same time no longer overwrite each other, and settings are saved safely, so a damaged settings file can't stop the app from starting.
Fixed library refreshes that could trigger each other and repeat the Komga sync and folder scan every time.
Fixed crashes and memory leaks around two-page mode, cover caching, PDF rendering and leaving the reader while pages were loading.
The old Komga server table, which stored passwords in plain text, is removed from the database.
Platforms
Android: minimum version is now Android 7.0 (API 24); before, only Android 16 could install the app.
iOS and iPadOS: minimum version is now 16.0 (was 26.5).
Guided reading (panel detection) is available in Windows release builds. On iOS it's no longer offered, since it couldn't find panels there.
Desktop features are chosen by the target platform instead of the build machine.
Development
New test project with about 480 tests covering archives, PDF, EPUB, the database, settings and a mocked Komga server. Tests that use your own comics only run locally (category LocalComics).
New CI workflow runs the tests on Ubuntu and Windows.
Removed unused packages and outdated OpenCV runtimes.
