The first release. Zīj is a study companion for traditional natal astrology: cast a chart, then check, table by table, what the texts say about it — every rule naming the sentence it comes from, and where the sources settle nothing, saying so rather than guessing. What it computes, and from which texts →

Download the zip for your platform below, unzip, run Zij. No install and no internet. Windows will warn about an unsigned app; macOS will need Control-click → Open the first time.

Upgrading from the Traditional Astrology Engine? Your saved charts and preferences move across by themselves the first time you run it under the new name.

Known limits in this release

• The analysis export covers a fixed set of tables and names the ones it leaves out.
• Mercury exactly conjunct the Sun, a tied opening contact, and the Moon's orientality under Sahl 1.20 are reported unresolved with their alternatives, by design.
• Masha'allah's four unstated topic conditions and Rhetorius's Node scope on p. 86 stay unresolved: the texts do not state them.
• The ephemeris covers dates up to 3000-09-20.
