Highlights
- Less background CPU, same live response. The EQ editor keeps its spectrum animation at 60 FPS while the window is active, but stops periodic UI rendering when the window is backgrounded, minimized, occluded, or closed.
- Only redraw what moves. Static graph elements no longer redraw with every spectrum frame, and disabled spectrum channels are no longer read from their analyzer buffers.
Install
Download the .dmg, open it, and drag iQualize to Applications. Universal build: Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 14.2+. Signed and notarized. It opens without a Gatekeeper workaround.
On first launch, allow audio capture when macOS asks. iQualize cannot process system audio without that permission.
For the iqualize command line tool: Settings (⌘,) → General → Install Command Line Tool.
