Mapbits 5 includes many exciting changes across most of the Mapbits plugins and takes advantage of unlimited item attributes in APEX 24.2 to bring even more declarative awesomeness to your adventures in APEX cartography!

⚠️ Breaking changes

  • Removed the Mapbits Lodestar Info Window item. Its functionality has been merged into the Lodestar Layer item; see the Info Window attribute group.
  • Removed the Mapbits Labeler item. Use Mapbits Lodestar Layer or Mapbits HTML Marker Layer plug-ins instead.
  • Drawing plugin: Removed "Read Only Item" attribute. The drawing item now follows the standard Read Only attributes at the item/region/page level.
  • Export to Image: Removed the base64 clob001 column from the collection to conserve memory. Use the blob001 column instead.

Other changes

Drawing

  • Normalize point coordinate inputs and prevent from going out of bounds
  • Add crosshair cursor
  • Improve upload performance when using collections
  • Store GeoJSON in the page item value as a preferred alternative to collections

Export to Image

  • Show a spinner instead of changing the cursor while the export is running

GeoRaster

  • Added more built-in color ramps
  • Changed the layer type options. Now they are only Color, DEM, and Automatic, and the terrain options have been moved to a new attribute.
  • Improved nodata support for 3-band color rasters
  • Improved performance

HTML Marker Layer

  • Fixed bug where toggling visibility did not work correctly

Legend

  • Fixed issue in APEX >=24 where the legend did not appear correctly
  • Improved performance on page load
  • Added support for Stationing and Raster layers

Lodestar Layer

  • Added heatmap and circle layer types
  • Added info window attributes
  • Added font style attribute
  • Added clustering attributes (previously, clustering could only be configured using the MapLibre Source Options JavaScript attribute)
  • Added selection attributes (previously, selection could only be configured using the Initialization JavaScript attribute)
  • Allow column substitutions in most display attributes

Set Custom Marker

  • Fixed a bug where changing the styling didn't work
  • Allow the source geometry item to be either a GeoJSON geometry or a GeoJSON Feature (which includes both geometry and attributes).

Zoom To

  • Changed the default query type from GeoJSON to SDO_GEOMETRY (only affects newly created actions)

Demo App

  • Changed back to the standard Universal Theme from a customized one we had been using
  • Updated demos to use new features

Documentation

  • Added missing plugin documentation and improved existing docs
  • Moved images to a subdirectory
