Override Test Release

This is the initial test release of the SLAPP app. It does NOT YET CONTAIN LOCKING! Therefore it cannot brick your device. Nevertheless, use at own risk.

Setup

To install this app, either download the release attached here directly through your device, or download it on a different device and send it to the Tablet.
You will need to enable "Install from Unkown Sources" on the device you're testing on:

Enabling the install

The exact steps vary slightly depending on the Android version, but generally, it's in Settings > Security or Settings > Apps & notifications > Special app access. It's either called "Install from Unkown Sources" or "Install unknown apps"

Installing

Tap the icon of the .apk file you downloaded and follow the install instructions.

Testing

Please test the following functionalities, and make sure to keep extensive notes on what is and is not happening. Report any discrepancies. Remember this is the initial test release and therefore does NOT have a focus on the visuals. The device must be in landscape mode.
Feel free to turn this part of the text into a checklist.

The app has 3 screens: MainScreen, LockScreen and UnlockScreen. There's a navigation button that lets you cycle through them.
Do NOT click "Start Service" just yet, please explore the other options first.

The default combination is 1,2,3,4. On the main screen you can Test that combination by hitting "Test Combination" and inputting it by clicking on the sectors or inputting it with the volume buttons. The volume up button cycles through the numbers, the volume down button sets the number.

You can set the combination, and then test a new combination.

Proceed to the Lock Screen. (keep in mind it will not actually lock anything, as that feature does not yet exist. Locked or not is just a state without consequences. Like Texas.

You can display the combination with "Show Combination". The Switch on top of the screen is a hard debug switch that shows and sets the lock/unlock. Grey=unlocked. Blue=locked. The switch will not exist in the final version. It is a debug tool.
You can click it to toggle. You can also lock it by clicking "Enter combination to Lock" and then entering the combination. When locking while it's set to Unlocked, the switch should switch over to locked.

Proceed to the Unlock screen, where you can do the Ginger Roberts and do everything in reverse with high-heels.
Set the switch to lock, i.e. blue, and "Enter combination to unlock" to unlock. You can again show the combination.

Make sure the Switch is set to unlocked (grey) and proceed back to the Main Screen.

You may now start the service. This is a foreground service, which means it will be on top of everything else happening. You will hear a sound and see a notification. Furthermore, a hexagon icon will appear in the tablet's status bar. You can also stop and restart the service.

Proceed to the Lock Screen, which is now "hot" (again, not implemented, but more features are now available that the state is hot.
Lock the app, either with the button or by entering the combination with either the touchpad or the volume buttons. The other two overrides are now available, since the app is hot.

Those overrides are the sound override and the timeout override.
The timeout is currently set to 15 seconds, so WHILE the service is active AND the system is locked, it will unlock automatically after 15 seconds.
The sound override will unlock the device when it detects a main frequency of 440 Hz held for 5 seconds.

Therefore please test the following 4 methods of unlocking the device when the service is active:

1. Using the combination by pressing segments of the hexagon
2. Using the volume buttons as inputs
3. Using a frequency generator at 440 Hz (I used this one: https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/) Or maybe just play a standard A on a piano.
4. Wait for 15 seconds.

Make sure to lock the app with the switch on top before each attempt.
Make sure that the two additional overrides no longer work when the service is stopped (you can stop the service on the Main Screen).
