Hi darktable team,
I'm submitting noise profiles for the Leica M9 / M-E (Typ 220). Both cameras share the same Kodak CCD sensor, so this profile applies to both bodies.
Profile details:
- Camera used for profiling: Leica M-E (Typ 220)
- EXIF model string: "M9 Digital Camera"
- ISO range covered: 80, 160, 200, 250, 320, 400, 500, 640, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000, 2500
- Frames per ISO: 5 (averaged)
- Generated with: darktable 5.4.1
- Platform: Ubuntu 22.04 (Docker)
Notes:
- Shot on a defocused screen gradient with clipping highlights to ensure accurate Poisson noise calibration
- The M9 and M-E share identical sensors — this profile should ideally be listed under both model strings
- The CCD noise character differs significantly from CMOS — the b coefficients reflect the shot-noise-dominant behavior of the sensor at higher ISOs
- In practice, good results required strength ~3.45 and preserve shadows ~0.46 in wavelets mode with Y0U0V0 color mode — this may be worth noting for users as a starting point given the CCD sensor's distinctive noise signature

Happy to reshoot any ISOs if the maintainers spot anything off in the fitted curves. Thanks for the great software.
