Universal MFG Unlocker - V1.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 13 Oct 15:21

V1.5.0 renames the mod to Universal MFG Unlocker and adds XeSS Multi Frame Generation (XeMFG) on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs through OptiScaler, plus DLSS Frame Generation Preset C.

  • New name. The ZIP contains only MFGUnlocker.dll, combining the backend and menu. When upgrading, close the game, delete the installed RTXMFG.dll (or the name you gave it) and install MFGUnlocker.dll under the same filename, so only one copy loads. Settings in RTXMFG-Universal.json carry over.
  • OptiScaler support. MFG Unlocker now runs as an OptiScaler plugin (MFGUnlocker.asi in OptiScaler\plugins), working with OptiScaler's frame generation, latency reduction and menu.
  • XeSS MFG (XeMFG), 2x to 6x on any GPU. Install as an OptiScaler plugin: rename the DLL to MFGUnlocker.asi, place it in OptiScaler\plugins and set LoadAsiPlugins = true under [Plugins] in OptiScaler.ini. Use a current OptiScaler 10 build with FGOutput = XeFG, and choose the frame count in OptiScaler's menu. MFG Unlocker runs Intel's multi frame model by default; XeFGModel = default under [XeFG] selects Intel's 2x model. OptiScaler's frame limit applies to output frames, so raise or remove it at high multipliers.
  • DLSS Frame Generation Preset C, NVIDIA's new performance mode, on RTX 40 and RTX 30, including 3x to 6x. Select Preset C in the menu or in the NVIDIA app's DLSS override. It needs DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16, which the NVIDIA app provides.
  • RTX 30 series support is now stable, with smoother pacing at 3x and above and DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16.

Press Backspace to open the menu (without OptiScaler). See the README for installation, supported filenames and OptiScaler setup. SHA-256 checksums for the ZIP and the extracted DLL are attached.

RTX 30 support is DirectX 12 only. Vulkan support remains experimental; Dynamic MFG is unavailable on Vulkan.

Licence note: MFGUnlocker.dll embeds XeSS Frame Generation program data derived from Intel's XeSS SDK. That data is Intel's work, is not covered by the MIT License, and remains subject to Intel's licence terms. See NOTICE.md.

The release DLL passed all 67 local release regression cases (2,455 assertions) and the DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16 admission checks for RTX 40 and RTX 30. A test build of the same source also passed the XeSS backend tests (57/57), the XeSS CPU checks and the RTX 30 suite (40 cases). Preset C was confirmed in game on RTX 40 in The Witcher 3 with a pre-release build carrying the same Preset C code. RTX 30 support for 310.9.16 is validated offline only so far.

Changes since v1.4.2

New

  • Renamed to Universal MFG Unlocker (MFGUnlocker.dll). Settings and logs keep their RTXMFG names, so your settings carry over.
  • OptiScaler support: runs as an OptiScaler plugin (MFGUnlocker.asi), working with OptiScaler's frame generation, latency reduction and menu.
  • XeSS Multi Frame Generation (XeMFG), 2x to 6x, on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs, through OptiScaler.
  • Intel's multi frame model runs on any GPU by default; XeFGModel = default under [XeFG] in OptiScaler.ini switches to Intel's 2x model.
  • DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16 support (the NVIDIA app's latest version).
  • DLSS Frame Generation Preset C (NVIDIA's performance mode) on RTX 40 and RTX 30.
  • Refreshed menu.

RTX 30 (now stable)

  • Smoother pacing at 3x and above.
  • Automatically uses the newest NVIDIA-signed DLSS Frame Generation that the NVIDIA app has downloaded.
  • DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16 and Preset C.
  • Monster Hunter Wilds' Streamline version is now recognized.

Game compatibility

  • Special K: the menu now opens with Special K installed.
  • Dying Light: The Beast: the menu now responds to the mouse.
  • Gears of War: E-Day: fixed a crash at launch.

Universal RTXMFG v1.4.2

Choose a tag to compare

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 08 Oct 14:26

V1.4.2 adds more resilient detection for path-traced hair in The Witcher 3, which should help keep the mod working after game patches. On the latest Witcher 3 update, where v1.4.1-hotfix.1 greyed out the Path Traced Hair option, path-traced hair is available again.

For The Witcher 3 DirectX 12, install RTXMFG as winmm.dll beside witcher3.exe. Enable HairWorks, path tracing and Path Traced Hair in the game. Fully restart the game after changing Path Traced Hair or Frame Generation. Hair support remains experimental and may stop working after a game patch; the menu's Path traced hair line shows when it is unavailable.

The ZIP contains only RTXMFG.dll, combining the backend and menu. For an existing single-DLL installation, close the game and replace the installed mod DLL, preserving its chosen filename and your settings. Press Backspace to open the menu. See the README for installation and supported filenames. SHA-256 checksums for the ZIP and extracted DLL are attached.

RTX 30 support remains very early and experimental. The newer RTX 30 development changes are excluded from this release. Vulkan support remains experimental; Dynamic MFG is unavailable on Vulkan.

The release DLL passed all 54 local release regression cases (2,131 assertions), plus hair CPU checks and eight synthetic GPU configurations against two Witcher builds. Path-traced hair was confirmed in game on the latest update with a test build carrying the same hair code; this exact release DLL has not yet been run in game.

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 02 Oct 12:04

V1.4.1-hotfix.1 fixes Witcher 3 path-traced HairWorks compatibility with ReShade and RenoDX. It also fixes cases of hair disappearing after loading a save or moving to another area, and keeps hair diagnostics available throughout longer sessions for better bug reports.

For The Witcher 3 DirectX 12, install RTXMFG as winmm.dll beside witcher3.exe. Enable HairWorks, path tracing and Path Traced Hair in the game. Fully restart the game after changing Path Traced Hair or Frame Generation. Hair support remains experimental and requires a matching game and shader profile.

The newer RTX 30 development changes are excluded from this hotfix. Vulkan support remains experimental; Dynamic MFG is unavailable on Vulkan.

The release DLL passed all 54 local release regression cases (2,131 assertions), plus hair CPU checks and eight synthetic GPU configurations against both supported Witcher builds. The ReShade resource-device and pool-pressure cases passed in every GPU configuration. This establishes build and harness validation. In-game ReShade/RenoDX hair rendering, repeated save loads and area changes, and long-session logging still await validation with this exact DLL.

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 01 Oct 17:35

V1.4.1 refines path-traced HairWorks in The Witcher 3 on RTX 40. It improves game-build compatibility, fixes hair setting changes and save/reload behavior, and reduces per-frame CPU overhead from hair processing.

  • Prevents unrelated overlay command lists from disabling hair for the rest of the session, and improves hair resource cleanup.
  • Adds clearer hair activity and cost information to the menu and runtime log.
  • Fixes menu access in Where Winds Meet and input handling in the Microsoft Store version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
  • Keeps the previous session's runtime log as *.previous.log for diagnosis after a restart.

For The Witcher 3 DirectX 12, install the DLL as winmm.dll beside witcher3.exe. Enable HairWorks, path tracing and Path Traced Hair in the game. Fully restart the game after changing Path Traced Hair or Frame Generation. Hair support remains experimental and requires a matching game and shader profile.

The ZIP contains only RTXMFG.dll, combining the backend and menu. For an existing single-DLL installation, close the game and replace the installed mod DLL, preserving its chosen filename and your settings. Press Backspace to open the menu. See the README for installation and supported filenames.

RTX 30 support remains very early and experimental. The newer RTX 30 development changes are excluded from V1.4.1. Vulkan support remains experimental; Dynamic MFG is unavailable on Vulkan.

This exact DLL passed the local build and all 54 release regression cases, with 2,131 assertions. Hair CPU and synthetic GPU checks passed against both supported Witcher builds. This establishes local harness validation; the exact release DLL has not yet been observed in a game, and the overlay interaction fix still awaits a tester run.

Universal RTXMFG v1.4

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 01 Oct 07:21

Path-traced HairWorks comes to The Witcher 3 on RTX 40. V1.4 brings animated hair into the game's path-traced lighting, with support built into RTXMFG and controlled by the game's own hair settings.

Enable HairWorks, path tracing and Path Traced Hair in a supported Witcher 3 DirectX 12 build. The mod menu's Path traced hair line shows activity or why support is unavailable. Hair support remains experimental and requires a matching game and hair shader profile.

Other changes

  • Adds HUDless detection and an optional tint view for inspecting the game's HUDless input. UI recomposition remains controlled by the game.
  • Adds V-Sync: Off alongside Game, with status showing whether the request was applied. NVIDIA Control Panel settings take priority.
  • Fixes menu discovery through newer DXGI factory interfaces and Streamline's manual interface upgrades, including The Witcher 3's DirectX 12 path and Wuthering Waves.
  • Improves early Streamline interception and plugin unload/reload handling.

Install or upgrade

The ZIP contains only RTXMFG.dll, combining the backend and menu. Close the game, rename it to one supported proxy filename beside the actual game executable, and press Backspace for the menu. For an existing single-DLL installation, replace the installed mod DLL while preserving its chosen filename and your settings.

See the README for supported filenames, installation details and troubleshooting. SHA-256 checksums for the ZIP and extracted DLL are attached.

RTX 30 series support is very early and experimental. It may not work in some games or configurations, even when the menu loads. Vulkan support remains experimental; Dynamic MFG is unavailable on Vulkan.

Universal RTXMFG v1.3.3 Hotfix 2

Choose a tag to compare

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 18 Sep 10:23

Restores the missing menu in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The fix covers unaligned DXGI imports and games that obtain their rendering factory through a GPU adapter. The MSFS menu fix was confirmed in-game with the tested candidate.

Includes Hotfix 1's GTA V Enhanced menu/HDR/status fixes, renderer discovery, small-stack startup repair and one log/status file per installation. Dying Light 2 and Subnautica 2 in-game retests remain pending.

To update, close the game and replace the installed mod DLL, keeping its filename and settings. The ZIP contains only RTXMFG.dll. Press Backspace to open the menu.

The rebuilt release passed 44 regression cases (1,796 assertions) and 25 font/publication checks. These are local checks, not proof of generated-frame output in every game. RTX 30 support remains very early and experimental; Vulkan is experimental and has no Dynamic MFG.

DLL version: 1.3.3.2. Checksums are attached.

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 17 Sep 09:29

Hotfix for missing menu controls, startup crashes and accumulating diagnostic files.

  • Restores the GTA V Enhanced menu and controls, including when the game locks the status file; fixes HDR swapchain forwarding during startup.
  • Detects renderer DLL imports used by games such as Dying Light 2.
  • Fixes the small-stack startup overflow identified in Subnautica 2.
  • Reuses one runtime log and one status file per game installation, overwriting their contents on the next launch. Existing older PID-named files are left untouched.

To update, close the game and replace your installed mod DLL, keeping its filename and settings. The ZIP contains only RTXMFG.dll. Press Backspace to open or close the menu. See the installation instructions for new installs.

The runtime log is %TEMP%\RTXMFG-<game>-<path-hash>.log; status is RTXMFG-Universal.status.json beside the mod settings.

Validation: the rebuilt release passed 37 regression cases (1,319 assertions) and 25 font/publication tests, including 64 KiB and 128 KiB worker threads. These are local harness checks, not proof of generated-frame output in a game. Dying Light 2 in-game validation and the Subnautica 2 retest remain pending.

RTX 30 support remains very early and experimental. Vulkan support is also experimental, and Dynamic MFG is unavailable on Vulkan.

DLL file version: 1.3.3.1. The original v1.3.3 release remains available.

Universal RTX 40 MFG Unlock V1.2.1 — DLSS-G 310.9.1 Support

Choose a tag to compare

@dashdogy dashdogy released this 09 Sep 15:17

Adds DLSS-G 310.9.1 support to the V1.2 universal build for RTX 40 Series GPUs.

This is a surgical hotfix: the core is updated to 1.2.0.23. The original V1.2
ASI loader, ReShade UI and loader configuration are retained unchanged.

Changes

  • Admit exactly DLSS-G 310.9.1 and select the existing verified 310.9 temporal profile.
  • Preserve DLSS-G feature identity, structural discovery, payload hashes and memory-publication checks.
  • Keep unknown 310.9.2 and unrelated DLSS-family providers rejected.

Upgrade

Close the game and back up its existing RTX40MFGCore.dll. For an existing V1.2
installation, replace only RTX40MFGCore.dll with the file from this archive.
Keep your ASI, ReShade add-on, loader configuration and user settings.

For a fresh install, follow the included README. Ultimate ASI Loader and ReShade
with extension support remain separate requirements. This package uses the V1.2
split loader/core architecture; do not mix it with a V1.3 single-DLL installation.

Validation

Windows x64 Release builds and focused provider/loader checks passed against
310.9.0 production and 310.9.1 production/development providers, including
malformed-payload and sibling-identity rejection. The packaged original V1.2 ASI
successfully loaded the exact hotfix core. The temporal transform retains its
expected output hash.

This is build and harness validation. Real-game provider execution and correct
final-present content, ordering and spacing remain unverified. Higher multipliers
and Vulkan behavior remain experimental. Newer Streamline V-Sync/Reflex controls
are outside this hotfix.
