OpenConstructionERP v18.5.0
OpenConstructionERP 18.5.0 makes the platform lighter to run and easier to understand. A Background services button in the top bar lists every service the platform keeps loaded, what each is for, which modules need it and roughly how much memory it takes, and an administrator can switch each one on or off without a restart. On a fresh server you are asked once which modules you will use before anything heavy starts, and semantic search now stays off until someone turns it on.
The Windows desktop app installs its backend once instead of unpacking about 1.4 GB on every start, so it starts faster and antivirus no longer rescans it each time. A backend that crashes after a healthy start is restarted automatically and its crash log is kept. Users whose Windows account name contains non-ASCII letters could not start the app at all; that is fixed, with the database kept under ProgramData when the profile path is not ASCII. The installer no longer closes other programs named openconstructionerp.exe, such as a backend run from a pip install, but an upgrade from 18.4.0 still runs the old uninstaller, which does, so stop such a backend first. The installer now refuses an install folder with non-ASCII characters in its path, with a message, instead of installing an app whose database cannot start; the default folder is not affected. The macOS build is for Apple Silicon only. On an Intel Mac, install with pip or Docker.
Procurement records the supplier's confirmation of an order with its own delivery date, lets an order allow its invoices a stated overrun, shows on the supplier card whether prequalification is still valid, and opens vendors and the catalogue without leaving the page. The client portal emails sign-in links, shows upcoming milestones, overdue invoices and payment plan instalments, and a payment plan can follow the schedule.
Schedules import from Excel or CSV, use each country's holidays, can be archived, and a Gantt link drawn by mistake can be undone. For Italian users this release brings the BIM property search with locale-aware numbers, XPWE and PWE in every import picker, XPWE deductions that total like the file, an undoable section delete and bulk editing of drawing sheets. Canada gets provincial holdback and holidays, Portugal its 2026 holidays, and French-speaking markets DPGF.
A record you have just created is now saved before the app confirms it, so opening it right away no longer answers not found and a failed save is no longer reported as a success. Claim invoice amounts keep their exact decimal value, payroll labour is no longer counted twice, and no project address goes to a public geocoder until a manager agrees. The full list is in CHANGELOG.md.
Installing on Windows, macOS or Linux and something looks off, a SmartScreen warning, an antivirus prompt or a first start that takes a while? The installation help page explains what each message means and what to do: https://openconstructionerp.com/install-help
