DATALOGIC USB CDC/ACM COM PORT DRIVER PACKAGE FOR WINDOWS (KERNEL-MODE USB SERIAL DRIVER)
Driver Characteristics
- USB-COM driver installer with support for HHS/FRS products, targeting 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems
- Signed and WHQL-certified driver (Microsoft attestation signing for kernel-mode driver compliance)
- USB-to-Serial (COM port) emulation support for USB devices
- Support for USB CDC/ACM compliant devices and selected non-compliant devices
- Uninstaller removes previous installations and related configuration changes

This driver complies with Microsoft requirements for digitally signed kernel-mode drivers using Microsoft attestation signing.

Installation Instructions
The driver package can be installed using one of the following methods.
Using the EXE installer
- Run
DATALOGIC_USBCOM_v7.1.4_2025-11-20_setup.exe - If prompted, grant administrator privileges
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation
Using the MSI package
MSI installer files can be extracted using an archive utility such as 7-Zip:
- Right-click the
.exeinstaller file - Select Open with → 7-Zip File Manager
- Browse the archive to locate the
.msiand related installation files - Extract the files to a local folder
- Run the appropriate
.msipackage with administrator privileges and follow the installation wizard
Administrator privileges are required for all installation methods.
Limitations & Changes
- Improved uninstallation process, ensuring complete and reliable removal of driver components and installation-related system changes
- Legacy COM port co-installer removed; COM port assignment is now handled dynamically by Windows in accordance with current Microsoft guidelines
