Release list
DW5 Android v1.6
Sixth stable release of the Dynasty Warriors 5 Android port.
Changes since v1.5
- Settings panel restyled after Dear ImGui's dark look: square corners, one pixel borders, flat blue frames
- Sliders drawn as ImGui's: a flat frame with a narrow grab and the value written inside it, instead of Android's thick bar
- On/off settings are checkboxes; option rows show the value in a frame with arrow buttons beside it
- Version 1.6 (versionCode 8)
DW5 Android v1.5
Fifth stable release of the Dynasty Warriors 5 Android port.
Changes since v1.4
- The stage map's walls, unit markers and flags show again in Unit Info and Preparation: the game sets its texture factor inline, which was never read, and left at 0 it hid them
- Cutscenes no longer open on black before the picture comes up, and their fades are right
- A cutscene's letterbox bars are black instead of grey: they were cut to the picture's viewport and never drawn
- No line of the clear colour above the bottom letterbox bar (a scissor's last row was dropped), nor down the left edge at a battle's opening shot
- Menu words keep the outline of their last letter
- Screen-space Begin/End drawing is placed on screen instead of being transformed off it
- On-screen controls: line icons with the pad's lettered badges on flat discs with one thin rim; a held control darkens
- Pipeline cache kept on disk; edges rounded where rects meet
- Version 1.5 (versionCode 7)
DW5 Android v1.4
Fourth stable release of the Dynasty Warriors 5 Android port.
Changes since v1.3
- BUTTON ART switch, off by default: the controls are drawn as letters and shapes, and no icon texture is made at all — the fix for the frame drops reported on 1.3
- The icon textures are made once for both styles, and the UI's descriptor pool is sized for them, so changing the button style no longer leaves textures and barriers behind
- The panel's switches are drawn by the panel itself: the platform switch draws nothing under the game's bare theme, which left the PERFORMANCE tab looking empty
- The ImGui font is back to its own size, the 26 px atlas having been for the ImGui menu that is gone
- Version 1.4 (versionCode 6)
DW5 Android v1.3
Third stable release of the Dynasty Warriors 5 Android port.
Changes since v1.2
- MAP and ORDERS on the pad's white and black buttons, two more pills beside Start and Back
- The game's own icons for them in the action-drawn button style: a map on MAP, a back arrow on BACK
- The layout editor moves and saves the two new pills as well; a layout saved before them keeps its places
- Version 1.3 (versionCode 5)
DW5 Android v1.2
Second stable release of the Dynasty Warriors 5 Android port.
Changes since v1.0
- The settings panel is laid out as Black-Android's: a row per setting with the value between two arrows, sections, and Back / Defaults; a tap, the arrow keys or the pad's D-pad steps a value and saves it at once
- Render resolution from 20 to 200% of the output height in steps of 5, with the pixels it makes shown beside it
- Anisotropic filtering (game default, 2X to 16X) and HDR10 on displays that offer it
- Aspect ratio row: the TV's shape, 16:9, or the full screen
- Saves (hdd) now live in the game's folder, so uninstalling the app keeps the progress; an install whose saves are still in the app's files moves them once, and keeps them there if the move fails
- The on-screen pad: L3/R3 stick clicks for a rage, the buttons hidden while a controller is connected, larger face buttons and triggers, the arrows above the stick, and see-through A/B/X/Y with crisp labels
- Version 1.2 (versionCode 4)
DW5 Android v1.0
First stable release of the Dynasty Warriors 5 Android port.
Changes since v0.1 (beta)
- Fixed the black screen (sound and gameplay running, nothing shown) on GPUs other than the developer's Mali-G57
- Safer Vulkan paths for Adreno and other Mali GPUs, following Black-Android's tested renderer
- Linear filtering is used only where the GPU supports it for the texture's format
- If the renderer can't start, a message now names the step that failed and the GPU
