v0.6.0
pitboard tells apart everything that runs Codex with its login in memory, and the app quits
OpenAI's ChatGPT app around a Codex switch. pitboard-core's public API changes, as the
last entry under Changed says, which is why this is 0.6.0.
Added
- Switching Codex in the app while OpenAI's ChatGPT app is open asks first: Quit ChatGPT
and Switch quits ChatGPT the way Command-Q does, switches, and opens ChatGPT again,
whether or not the switch worked. ChatGPT runs acodexof its own with Codex's login in
memory, and closing its windows leaves it running, so switched under it, it went on with
the account left behind, and its own Log Out revoked the login pitboard had just
parked. If ChatGPT does not quit within 30 seconds, nothing changes. The command line
never quits an app.
Changed
- After a Codex switch or a sign-in again, pitboard names what is still running the old
login and what makes each take it: acodexsession is quit and started again, the
ChatGPT app is quit with Command-Q and opened again, Codex's background app server takes
codex app-server daemon restart, and Codex in an editor takes Developer: Reload
Window. Each of them runs a program calledcodex, and the warning used to count them
all as sessions to quit and start again.pitboard doctor'scodex_runningcheck lists
them the same way, with process IDs, and says what to do in its advice. - pitboard counts only the processes of the person running it. A switch counted every
user'scodex, whilepitboard doctorcounted only theirs. - In
pitboard-core,provider::Adoption::RestartRequirednames itsholders,
service::Warning::SessionsStillRunningandSessionsKeepTheOldLogincarry what is
running asholdingin place ofprogramandcount, anddoctor::CodexFacts::running
is by kind. Theholdermodule andservice::Pitboard::holdingare new. These change the
crate's public API.
