1.0.8
- Fixed the dedicated server dying to the watchdog ("Watching Server") every two minutes with a running quarry, and taking the world offline with it. Deciding where to drill next walked the whole mining box in a single tick, and reading a position outside the chunks currently loaded around the quarry made the server load - and where the terrain did not exist yet, generate - that chunk on the tick thread, right there. A big quarry meant thousands of those per tick, far past the 60 seconds the watchdog allows.
- The search for blocks placed into the finished part of the pit, the column scan above the drill and the cleanup of the invisible water placeholders now skip positions whose chunk is not in memory instead of pulling it in, and look again once it loads.
- The search is now budgeted per tick and continues where it left off, so it can no longer occupy a tick on its own no matter how large the mining area is.
- A quarry whose mining area reaches outside the loaded chunks now waits for them (one block per tick, as BuildCraft itself does) instead of dragging them in by the thousand. Chunk-load the mining area if you want such a quarry to keep running while nobody is nearby.
1.0.7
- Fixed the quarry stopping for good in the middle of a lake: with no fluid pipe attached the tank (64 buckets by default) filled up after the first part of the lake and the quarry then waited for room forever. By default it now keeps mining and the fluid that does not fit is lost. New config key
tankFull:VOID(default) orWAIT(the old behaviour: pump only what fits, nothing is lost). - Fixed the pump paying for the whole lake every time but only pumping what fit into the tank; with
WAITa task now costs only the buckets it will actually pump. - Fixed the quarry pumping the same layer over and over when the water continues outside the frame: the invisible placeholders left by pumped sources were removed as soon as the drill moved one layer down, the outside water refilled the layer within seconds, and the "block placed in the pit" scan sent the drill back up, forever. The placeholders now stay for as long as the quarry stands (the drill passes through them) and are removed when the quarry block is broken, so the pit also stays dry.
/reloadnow re-readsconfig/bcquarryfluids.json;mode,tankFullandpumpMjPerBucketapply at once, the tank size of an already loaded quarry only after a restart.- Waterlogged blocks (seagrass, kelp, waterlogged slabs ...) are now mined like any other block instead of being skipped and left standing in the pit as water sources.
- Fixed the Bedrock Pickaxe being able to (slowly) mine anything, not just bedrock: its tool component simply had no rule for other blocks, which upstream treats as "break at hand speed" rather than "can't break at all". Holding it now permanently blocks progress on every block except bedrock in survival.
1.0.6
- Quarries can now mine bedrock too: a toggle in the GUI, under the 3x3 inventory, turns it on per quarry, off by default. Bedrock everywhere in the mining area is fair game except the world's bottom-most layer, which always stays sealed so the pit never opens into the void. Mined bedrock lands in the quarry's own inventory like any other drop.
- New item: the Bedrock Pickaxe (3 bedrock + 2 sticks, a diamond pickaxe with a bedrock-textured head), craftable and shown right next to the vanilla pickaxes in the Tools creative tab. It mines only bedrock, but everywhere, including the world's bottom-most layer, and is enchantable exactly like the vanilla pickaxes (Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch, Unbreaking, Mending).
- Fixed bedrock never dropping an item when mined: vanilla registers bedrock with "no loot table" at the code level, which silently ignores any loot table file placed at its usual id. Bedrock's own loot table is now pointed at ours directly.
- Hardened the quarry against ever breaking a block outside its own working volume, no matter what else goes wrong (a stray in-flight task, a box/drill mismatch, a future bug): every mining path now double-checks the target is inside bounds before touching it, and quietly skips/abandons it otherwise instead of drilling into the wild. (An earlier build of this bounded against the visible frame's own height, which is much shallower than the pit actually mines - that let the drill clear only the first layer or two before every deeper block came back "out of bounds" and it sat there doing nothing. Fixed: the bound now follows the real mining depth, not just the frame.)
- Fixed the quarry endlessly re-mining the same water source: pumping a source next to an "infinite water" setup (two source blocks with a gap between them) used to leave the gap as air, which vanilla immediately refilled from the untouched neighbours, so the quarry pumped the same spot forever. It now seals the spot with an invisible, walk-through placeholder that fluids can't re-occupy at all, and quietly removes it again once the drill has moved a layer below, the pit is finished, or the quarry itself is broken.
1.0.5
Fixes the drill chasing a phantom "blocker" right after placing a new quarry.
The placed-block scanner mistook "mining hasn't started yet" for "the whole pit is already mined", which made a freshly placed quarry scan its untouched mining area and send the drill to the first ordinary block in the far corner before it had mined anything - sometimes far enough to leave loaded chunks and hang the quarry.

BuildCraft Quarry Extras 1.0.4 (Minecraft 26.2)
First public release (also on CurseForge and Modrinth). Warns in the log when an untested BuildCraft Refabricated build is installed (tested with 26.7.27+mc26.2). Drop the jar into mods/ next to BuildCraft Refabricated (server and client).
BuildCraft Quarry Extras 1.0.3 (Minecraft 26.2)
Changes since 1.0.2
- Pump mode. A fluid source is no longer mined block by block. The quarry flood-fills the connected sources of that fluid on the layer and pumps the whole pool in one tick, so vanilla "infinite water" cannot refill it. The task costs
pumpMjPerBucket(default 4 MJ) per source block, so big pools take longer. - Only as many sources as fit into the tank are pumped. With no room the quarry waits and retries once a second.
- New config key
pumpMjPerBucket.
Drop the jar into mods/ next to the unmodified BuildCraft Refabricated 26.7.27+mc26.2 jar (server and client).
BuildCraft Quarry Extras 1.0.2 (Minecraft 26.2)
Changes since 1.0.1
- Flowing fluid is ignored: only source blocks are mined. Flowing water re-appeared instantly and the quarry kept trying the same block.
- Blocks (and fluid sources) placed anywhere in the already mined pit are found by a top-down scan and mined first, highest block first, even after the quarry has finished. This keeps water from being released into the hole by mining something underneath it.
Drop the jar into mods/ next to the unmodified BuildCraft Refabricated 26.7.27+mc26.2 jar (server and client).
BuildCraft Quarry Extras 1.0.1 (Minecraft 26.2)
Changes since 1.0.0
- Tank gauges show the fluid's real texture and tint (water, lava, BuildCraft oil ...), on a lighter see-through background.
- Blocks placed on an already mined layer are mined before the drill continues downwards; upstream skipped the whole column.
- The menu opens with any item in hand except a BuildCraft wrench.
- New icon.
Drop the jar into mods/ next to the unmodified BuildCraft Refabricated 26.7.27+mc26.2 jar (server and client). Config: config/bcquarryfluids.json.
BuildCraft Quarry Extras 1.0.0 (Minecraft 26.2)
Fabric add-on for BuildCraft Refabricated 26.7.27+mc26.2 on Minecraft 26.2. Drop the jar into mods/ next to the unmodified BuildCraft Refabricated jar (server and client). Refined Storage is optional and only needed for the upgrades.
Quarry additions
- Mines fluid blocks (water, lava, oil, any mod fluid) instead of leaving them. Modes in
config/bcquarryfluids.json:COLLECT(default, into the quarry tank),VOID,IGNORE. - Multi-fluid tank, 4 slots x 16 buckets by default. Pushes into adjacent fluid pipes and tanks, pullable by Refined Storage importers and external storages. Waits when full, like the BuildCraft pump.
- Own 3 x 3 inventory: mined items land there first, overflow goes to neighbours as before. Pipes and importers can extract.
- Four upgrade slots for Refined Storage Fortune I-III and Silk Touch upgrades, applied to every mined block.
- GUI on right-click: inventory, BuildCraft-style tank gauges, upgrade slots in a Refined-Storage-style side panel.
Known limitation: vanilla "infinite water" re-creates source blocks between two neighbouring sources, so lakes drain slowly and water flowing in from outside the frame is not stopped.
