Line App v1.0 - Initial Release 馃帀

Overview

The Line App is an Android overlay application that displays 7 adjustable lines on top of other apps. Perfect for designers, developers, and anyone who needs to align and compare visual elements on-screen.

Features

  • 7 Adjustable Lines: Each line has a distinct color and number (1-7) for easy identification
  • Orientation Aware:
    • Landscape mode: Horizontal lines with draggable handles
    • Portrait mode: Vertical lines (view-only)
  • Free Movement: Lines can cross each other without constraints
  • Persistent State: Line positions are saved between sessions
  • True Overlay: Interact with apps underneath while lines remain visible
  • Intuitive Controls: Numbered handles on both sides in landscape mode

Installation

  1. Download LineApp-v1.0.apk from the assets below
  2. Enable "Install from Unknown Sources" on your Android device
  3. Install the APK
  4. Grant overlay permission when prompted

Requirements

  • Android 8.0 (API 26) or higher
  • Overlay permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

Usage

  1. Launch the app and tap "Start Lines"
  2. Grant overlay permission if needed
  3. Rotate to landscape mode to adjust line positions
  4. Use the 脳 button to close the overlay (positions are saved)

Use Cases

  • Align visual elements across different apps
  • Compare heights and positions of UI components
  • Create visual reference guides for design work
  • Line up content in photo editing or drawing apps

Known Issues

  • App icon may not immediately appear in launcher on some devices
  • Touch interaction with underlying apps works best when not touching the handle areas
