0.8.2

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 19 Oct 15:56

Fixes the package build so assets/ (the plugin icon) is included in the ZIP. v0.8.x releases from earlier today left it out. No other changes.

0.8.1

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 19 Oct 15:11

Adds a plugin icon for Community Plugins and Browse plugins. No other changes.

0.8.0

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 12 Sep 12:04

Root is no longer required. Both privileged reads (dumpsys wifi, ip route get) work as Android's shell user, so a panel running Shizuku needs no root at all — verified on real hardware with root deliberately unused.

Root is still preferred when present, since the persistent session is cheaper per call than a binder round trip. The status line names which channel is active, and whether Shizuku is running as shell or root.

Without either channel, everything except the WiFi signal detail still works — latency, outages and charts use an unprivileged ICMP socket as before.

0.7.0

Holds a single su session per plugin instead of spawning one process per command, so Magisk grants root once per plugin start rather than on every poll. On a panel this was showing up as a stream of "granted Superuser rights" toasts — twelve a minute from the performance plugin alone, enough that Android was discarding them for exceeding its toast quota.

Exit codes and output behave exactly as before. Commands run in a subshell so one containing exit can't silently kill the session; a timeout or dead shell closes it and the next call opens a clean one. The session ends when the plugin stops.

See CHANGELOG.md for detail.

v0.6.0: Discover the dashboard URL automatically (0.6.0)

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 11 Sep 18:08

The Dashboard URL setting is now optional — the plugin discovers whatever dashboard the panel is actually showing via the new getDashboardState read command. See CHANGELOG.md.

v0.5.0: Publish gateway and target latency history charts (0.5.0)

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 11 Sep 13:10

Publishes compact latency-history charts for the gateway and configured ping target. Also files an upstream request for a way to read Kiosk Satellite's own dashboard URL instead of typing one in by hand. See CHANGELOG.md.

v0.4.0: Publish readings as real Home Assistant entities (0.4.0)

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 11 Sep 12:48

Publishes every applicable reading as a real Home Assistant entity (binary_sensor/sensor/text_sensor), not just status text — network up, connection type, WiFi signal/SSID, gateway/target latency/loss/p95, dashboard response time, and 24h outage count. See CHANGELOG.md.

v0.3.1-20260911: Fix version format: semver with date suffix, not 4-component date

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 11 Sep 10:11

Fixes the version format from the deleted, broken v2026.09.11.01 release: Kiosk Satellite's plugin manifest validator requires 3-component semver, optionally with a -suffix. Metadata only otherwise (author field, AI-assisted note). See CHANGELOG.md.

0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 11 Sep 09:40
  • Local IP address, from the same root-free ip route get call (its src field).
  • Rolling p95 latency and a 5-minute miss count for both the gateway and configured target ping, alongside the existing latest-burst reading — matches ha-paneld's own "healthy; p95 5 ms, no misses in the last 5 min" runtime-diagnostics framing.

0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@davidcoulson davidcoulson released this 11 Sep 09:04
  • Connection type (WiFi/Ethernet/other), from ip route get's default-route interface — no root.
  • BSSID alongside the existing WiFi SSID/RSSI, parsed from the same dumpsys wifi line atomically.
  • Gateway latency and packet loss — the same root-free ICMP mechanism as the configured ping target, against the gateway ip route get finds automatically.
  • Dashboard URL HTTP response-time reading (a rough reachability stand-in, not a real page-load timer — Kiosk Satellite's own dashboard URL isn't discoverable through the SDK).
  • Everything above reported as status text; real Home Assistant sensor entities are blocked on jxlarrea/kiosk-satellite-plugin-hello-world#2 (SDK 1's entities capability only supports RGB lights).
