Will DYDA_WiBLE_1.6.X loggers work?

Hello community,
I've been running around for a few days trying to figure out if my new Deye SUN-10-SG01HP3-EU-AM2 fitted with the DYDA_WiBLE_1.6.2 Logger will work with ha-solarman.
It's a bit misleading given my unit is indeed detailed in the supported devices however upon further research, the answer isn't clear with regards to the DYDA_WiBLE_1.6.2 Logger.
A discussion for this has not responded(1), and there's recommendations to avoid firmware updates for other cases (2).

If possible, can we please get an updated answer or documentation update that states whether units fitted with these loggers will work?

Hi @daneeeh, device and logger are not the same thing. This new Deye logger is not supported, so you need to use some other way of connecting your device.

Thank you David, I guess it would be worth clarifying this in the documentation given Deye seems to be shipping newer inverters with this logger in lieu of the older open ones.
I'm going the ESP32-> RS485 route now and also, temporarily(as the pieces arrive), with a custom script for the DeyeCloud API directly although the output is very limited, afaik only able to obtain "batterySOC", "connectionStatus" and "generationPower"... bummer.

I think it would help a ton until there's a way, to having a clear disclosure on the supported devices table that clarifies the Loggers in question. I'm new to this world and feel like I went through a whole project, procurement, commissioning process with the assumption ha-solarman was the way to go out of the box.

This is true indeed, but for Solarman based loggers, which this new Deye logger is not...

Update on this topic: You can enable Modbus TCP protocol in the new DYDA_WiBLE_1.7.1 firmware. See #1159
