TinyRec 0.1.5

A fix release focused on multi-source projects (desktop + iPhone in the same timeline), region recording cleanup, and a faster, more navigable home screen. Plus a complete rewrite of the in-app guides.

✨ What's new

  • Mixed projects: desktop + iPhone in one timeline. Drop a desktop scene next to an iPhone scene and each clip renders at its own native aspect — the iPhone bezel only wraps the iPhone clip, the desktop clip fills the canvas. The Frame tab now activates as long as any source in the project is an iPhone, with iPhone 17 Pro (Cosmic Orange) selected by default.
  • Browse Guides link on the home hero — opens the new guides on the website.

🐛 Fixes

  • Region recording no longer ships with black bars.
  • Mixed-source exports: desktop clips no longer get cropped into the iPhone's screen rectangle and rendered tiny in the middle of the canvas — they fill the project's display area at their native 16:9 aspect, matching playback.
  • Cursor size matches between playback and export. A 16:9 source exported to 9:16 used to ship with an oversized cursor because the export sized it off the full canvas instead of the visible video.
  • Frame tab disabled for sources that have no usable iPhone bezel (desktop window/region/display recordings).

🛠 Under the hood

  • iPhone bezel assets converted to WebP (~3-5× smaller on disk) — same on-screen quality, faster install and faster first-paint when picking a model.
  • The rust exporter now resolves the active clip's source kind per frame, so the bezel overlay, video rect, cursor projection, and click projection all stay aligned with whichever scene is on screen.

📚 Guides

  • The website's /guides section was rewritten end to end — Editor, Recording, Camera, Zoom, Style, Export, Timeline, Audio, iPhone bezel, and a fresh Getting Started flow. If you've used TinyRec for a while there's nothing new for you in the basics, but the bezel + multi-scene + audio guides are the most useful read.
