🚀 Added

First public release: a dependency-free set of helpers that the dd* libraries share.

  • annotation_helpers: inspect type annotations at runtime — get_annotation_origin, is_subclass, is_complex_sequence, get_complex_sequence_element_annotation, get_dict_items_annotation, get_annotation_without_optional.
  • class_helpers.get_origin_class_of_method: find the class in the MRO where a method is defined.
  • convertors.convert_camel_case_to_snake_case.
  • function_exceptions_extractor.extract_function_exceptions: list the exceptions a function raises by reading its source.
  • function_helpers.create_new_function: clone a function under a new name, keeping defaults and closures.
  • module_getter.get_module: walk a module path.
  • safe_decorators.safe_call and retry_once_after_exception.
  • sequence_helpers.get_safe_element.

Supports Python 3.8–3.12, ships py.typed.
