v0.2 (Augest)
New:

  • The Standard Editor has new buttons in the right bar to open name/data tables with HxD/010 hex editors.
  • The Events window has a new button to access an eventing tutorial.
  • Events can now have tooltips. Events with tooltips appear underlined.
  • A visual overhaul for the Tools window.
  • A visual overhaul for the Events window.
  • A visual overhaul for the Commands window.
  • New Command: Open GES Folder.
  • New Command: Open Project Folder.
  • New Command: Open Folder (IE any resource folder).
  • New Shortcut: Open GES Folder.
  • New Shortcut: Open Project Folder. Theres also a new Open button for it in Project Info.
  • New Event Resource Type: Child Folder. (A folder somewhere inside another folder resource)
  • The Text Editor has a new button to hide line ID numbers incase you find them annoying.
  • If a project's last known Input or Output folder is now missing, you get a red MISSING! warning.
  • Event errors are now color coated to more easily understand the problem.

Changes:

  • The Events window now manages event resources instead of from the workshop manager.
  • Events now keep their resource info instead of the workshop, so users can share events between games.
  • The standard editor's hotbar nolonger appears in the text editor or the home screen.
  • The standard editor's hotbar is now split between buttons for the item list, and ones for the main editor.
  • The terms of service is now the same window as the library so there isn't a loading moment when you click okay.
  • Creating a new project now automatically selects it.
  • Creating a new workshop now automatically selects it.
  • Creating a new event now automatically selects it.
  • The program now uses a master internal database. This will make future development MUCH easier.

Fixes:

  • A new workshops' resources are now saved to them, instead of another workshop. Oops.
  • Other misc crashes and problems related to workshop creation under different circumstances.
  • Event tooltip input nolonger requires the enter key.
  • Deleting a Event Resource now sets any event's using it to Resource None. This also fixes a save crash.

My Thoughts:
I worked a LOT on adding support for the ability for a workshop event to store and execute a command prompt style command for this months update, but like, i did so much and theres still quite a bit more to do :( so for now I give up. I'll try and get to it in the September update but i need to stop overworking myself. For now i'm calling it an "Upcoming feature" until further notice, but i did huge a HUGE amount of work done towards it.

I'm really happy with the results of this months work. I already have a big TODO list about the events menu for next month as well. I feel like i'll have to wait until October before i get back to adding new features for editors, but, oh well. Making sure the events menu is super good is also super important. Or maybe i'll delay command prompt type stuff and foreach loops to Sept/October and work on getting Variable Width DataTable Support or Variable Width Text Support into GES. We shall seeee. Ok i'm taking the rest of the month off BYEEEEE!
