Fit windows to screen, resize with mouse -> Windows remain fitting to screen size?

Hello,

Sometimes I resize windows with mod+w to fit to the screen size. When I resize the windows further with my mouse the windows stop fitting the screen size. This is probably intentional and aligns with the scrolling paradigm.
My question would still be:
Is it possible to resize windows with mod+w, then resize them further with the mouse and, while doing this, the windows remain fitting to the screen size?

Like you said, a scrolling layout usually allows windows to flow in and out of the viewport.

In a92ddde I added the fit mode modifier which allows to automatically fit all windows to the viewport, constraining their sizes. Maybe that will let you to do what you want.
