Codex Deck v0.5.0 expands the Stream Deck integration from the primary Codex Micro layout into a complete, faster command surface.

Highlights

  • Adds standalone Stream Deck actions for all 30 official Codex Micro keycaps, including the native press/release microphone action.
  • Resolves keycap behavior from the live registry in the installed Codex build instead of maintaining fragile hardcoded command IDs.
  • Adds full Codex-aligned light and dark rendering, polished agent-state glows, restrained active-state animation, and readable fallbacks when a local SVG is unavailable.
  • Keeps current Codex awaiting-approval and awaiting-response states orange until the user responds.
  • Prevents overlapping bridge polls, redundant image transfers, and idle animations to reduce Stream Deck traffic and improve responsiveness.
  • Supports multiple copies of the same action across pages and profiles.
  • Updates the renderer bridge for Codex for Windows 26.715.2305.0.
  • Reuses an already healthy Codex Deck debug session instead of restarting Codex on every launcher run. A clean restart remains available explicitly with -ForceRestart.
  • Adds optional Windows-startup installation through Start-CodexDeck.ps1 -InstallStartup.

  • com.simeo.codex-deck.streamDeckPlugin — install or update the Stream Deck plugin by double-clicking it.
  • codex-deck-launcher-v0.5.0.zip — extract the complete folder, then run Start Codex Deck.cmd.

The launcher folder must stay intact. Node.js 20 or newer is required.

Local keycap artwork

OpenAI's Codex Micro SVG assets are intentionally not included. Codex Deck can load files you provide locally from %LOCALAPPDATA%\CodexDeck\icons; otherwise every action receives a readable built-in fallback. See docs/ICON_SETUP.md for the local-only setup workflow.
