Quick Price Update v3.0.1
Quick Price Update v3.0.1 (2026-10-24)
For Zen Cart 1.5.8a through 3.0.0 on PHP 7.4 through 8.5. No core files changed; nothing to do after upgrading.
- Saving posts only the rows you changed, so a page of 200 rows stays well under PHP's
max_input_varshowever many columns it has. Without JavaScript every row still posts and only changed values are written, as before. - New notifiers for add-ons: extra data for the rows shown, panels between the search form and the table, extra table columns (before ID and after Quantity) with their cells, and an add-on's own results in the save messages. An add-on's
qpu<letters>_search fields are now carried through paging and the redirect after saving. Seedocs/CUSTOMIZING.md. - Change tracking (highlight and "Rows changed") covers drop-downs as well as boxes.
- The Product Name column keeps a sensible width when the table is wide.
- The "not saved" message now covers any column's value, not only prices and quantities.
Quick Price Update v3.0.0
Quick Price Update v3.0.0 (2026-10-24)
First release of this rewrite, numbered 3.0.0 to follow on from ianhg's Quick Price Update V2. For Zen Cart 1.5.8a through 3.0.0 on PHP 7.4 through 8.5. No core files are changed, and it adds no tables and no settings.
What it does
- Catalog > Quick Price Update: find products by exact ID or ID ranges (
12, 15, 40-55), by category with or without its subcategories, by name or model, and by status. Sort and page the results (20, 50, 100 or 200 per page). - Edit in the table: change prices and quantities right in the table; changed rows are highlighted and counted. One Save Changes writes only those rows.
- Checked before writing: prices take up to 4 decimal places and can't be negative.
1,234.50is understood;12,50is refused rather than misread. A row that fails comes back highlighted with what was typed. - No overwrites: a product whose price or quantity changed elsewhere after the page loaded is skipped and reported.
- Storefront stays right: saving a price refreshes Zen Cart's price-sort value, so storefront price sorting and "Starting at" prices update.
- Flags: products on special, priced by attributes, Call for Price and Always Free are flagged.
- Currency icon: on Catalog > Categories/Products, a currency icon opens a product, or a category with its subcategories, on the new page. The icon follows the store's default currency (25 icons covering 43 currencies; others show their own symbol). It shows only for admins allowed on the page.
- For add-ons: four notifiers let another plugin add actions, search fields, search conditions, or react to each saved row.
Inspired by ianhg's Quick Price Update (Library 2338) and Quick Price & Quantity Update in Admin (2358), and Scott Wilson's Quick Quantity Update (1847). Those edit core's category_product_listing.php for 1.5.8 or earlier; this is a new, encapsulated plugin written from scratch.
Tested on Zen Cart 1.5.8a, 2.0.1, 2.1.0, 2.2.2, 2.3 and 3.0.0-dev. The automated checks run on PHP 7.4 through 8.5.
