Release list
AutoDNS 1.1.1
Fixes the plugin failing to load alongside codxe.
- AutoDNS and codxe were both built at image base 0x91D00000, and system plugins only load at their built base, so whichever came second in launch.ini silently didn't load. AutoDNS now sits at 0x91DC0000 (0x91DC0000–0x91DC8000), a gap clear of codxe, xbdm, JRPC2, xbGuard, RPC360, CoronaKeysFix and UsbdSecPatch.
Setup is in the README.
AutoDNS 1.1.0
Resolver variants and a simpler rule for when to swap.
- AutoDNS.xex is the default build (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1). AutoDNS-google.xex, AutoDNS-quad9.xex and AutoDNS-opendns.xex are the same plugin built with those resolvers. Rename whichever you use to AutoDNS.xex, or point launch.ini at its filename.
- Building your own pair is one command: ./build.sh 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4.
- The plugin no longer checks that the stored DNS is exactly 192.0.2.1 before swapping. Any dead address in the dashboard works, including 10.255.255.1 from older instructions.
Tested on hardware with the Quad9 build. Setup is in the README.
AutoDNS 1.0.2
Hardening from a code review, tested on hardware.
- Build-time asserts pin the three fields of the decrypted network config the plugin depends on, so a layout mistake fails the build instead of writing into the wrong field.
- XNetStartup is checked and a failure aborts the run.
- The network context is no longer torn down at the end (XNetCleanup removed). The plugin is resident for the whole session, and the refcount semantics of cleaning up under the system caller id are undocumented.
- Build is a single 21-line script; the Makefile is gone.
No change to behaviour or setup: stored DNS stays 192.0.2.1, live DNS becomes 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 after the exploit loads.
Setup is in the README.
AutoDNS 1.0.1
The dead DNS address is now 192.0.2.1, reserved by RFC 5737 for documentation and never assigned on any network. 10.255.255.1 was private address space and could in theory exist on another LAN or over a VPN.
After installing this build, set both DNS servers in the dashboard to 192.0.2.1. Until you do, the plugin sees a normal DNS config and leaves it alone, which keeps the console offline.
Asset replaced 2026-09-07 with a build that keeps the config params alive until the reconfigure finishes (tested on hardware).
Setup is in the README.
First Release
DashLaunch plugin that swaps the live DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1) after the BadAvatar/XeUnshackle chain has loaded, while the stored DNS stays dead (10.255.255.1) so the console never reaches Xbox Live during the exploit.
Setup is in the README. Built against XDK 2.0.21256.17.
