Reitti v5.4.0 Release Notes

This release adds something I've wanted on the map for a long time: street-level photos. Reitti now integrates with Panoramax, the open and community-built answer to Google Street View. Your tracks are no longer just lines seen from above. On top of that, the Immich integration gets album filters and per-user photo sharing.

The issue ticket actually said "investigate Panoramax integration". I got a little carried away and shipped it instead.

Street Photos: Step Into Your Own Tracks

Until now, you experienced your history from above: pins, paths, and colored lines. With the new Panoramax integration, you can drop down to ground level and look around:

• Enable the Street Photos layer in the map controls.

• The map now displays photo sequences captured along streets and paths. Click one, and a drawer opens that lets you navigate the imagery just like Google Street View. Walk along the route, pan around, and finally see with your own eyes the places your timeline only ever showed as dots.
• To guarantee the best experience, only full 360° panoramas are displayed for now. They simply offer the best quality and a true look-around feeling.

A visit in your timeline is no longer just a pin on a map. It's a view from the street where you actually stood.

Immich: Album Filters and Per-User Photo Sharing

Two new options for the Immich integration:

Album filter. In Settings → Integrations you can now optionally select an album, and reitti will only show images from that album instead of your whole library. Prefer the old behavior? Just keep All Albums selected.

Per-user photo sharing. If you share your location data with another user on your instance, you now decide per user whether your photos are included in the share as well. Your tracks can be visible while your photos stay private, or the other way around.

Bug Fixes

• 3D map misalignment. With the 3D map enabled, points and tracks could render at the wrong altitude and float above or below the terrain. I refactored the map renderer and cleaned up how deck.gl and maplibre handle the terrain (DEM) files, so everything should now sit exactly where it belongs.
• Stacked photo thumbnails on the timeline. When a photo bubble contained multiple photos without GPS positions, the dialog would not open. That's fixed, and once open you can use the update all button to write every matched position back to Immich in one go.
• GPSLogger auto-configuration. The auto-configure button now explicitly turns off "send as zip file", which doesn't work with the bulk file upload endpoint. If you set up GPSLogger with a recent version and uploads failed, simply re-run the auto-configuration.

Other Changes

• Fresh translations from Hosted Weblate. A big thank you to all translators!
