Nova Personal Agent v0.4.0

Nova 0.4.0 keeps your conversation, context and ongoing work together.

• Persistent home and Timeline: keep Nova beside a tabbed workspace, with context, evidence and task results available to revisit.
• Scheduled Agent Tasks: run work once, daily or weekly, manage schedules on desktop or mobile, and receive reports in the main conversation. Task definitions and recovery state persist across restarts.
• Incremental sources and Profile: sync authorized sources incrementally and resume background processing. Profile writing now focuses on understanding the person, retaining evidence for correction and source withdrawal.
• More coding backends: choose Codex, OpenCode, CodeBuddy, Pi or DeepSeek Harness. Sessions retain their backend, with improved ACP failure recovery and native Windows launching.
• Guarded specialist execution: browser, computer and phone executors share approval, cancellation, screenshot evidence and result verification. These GUI/device paths remain experimental.

Install

Requires Node.js 22.13+ for the desktop launcher; the Ubuntu headless server requires Node.js 22.14+.

The old nova-audio-agent npm entry receives the same 0.4.0 launcher and refreshed documentation. To switch names, first uninstall the old package to avoid command-link collisions. novaaudio remains a command alias, and existing user data/settings stay in place. Do not install both desktop package names together.

Each desktop download has a SHA-256 sidecar. Applications are unsigned; macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen may display warnings. Intel Macs and Linux ARM64 are not included.

Boundaries

Profile summaries are model-generated and need reference checks. Default message ingestion remains your own messages and direct mentions; this release does not automatically include all collaborators' messages. ACP permissions differ from Codex, Pi has no per-action approval, and live steering remains a Codex feature. GUI/phone execution and configurable Feishu outbound delivery require environment-specific setup and are not universally device-validated. Scheduled task creation through conversation depends on the configured model; schedules can also be managed directly in the client.

Nova Audio Agent v0.3.1 smooths the first run and upgrades: the quick start now powers typed chat out of the box, the Ubuntu package upgrades in place from 0.3.0, and the English interface is complete.

Highlights

• Quick start just works for text chat. The first-run guide defaults to the one-key quick start, and that same key now drives typed conversations. Existing advanced setups keep their own provider.
• Smoother Ubuntu upgrades. The .deb upgrades 0.3.0 in place and keeps your settings and data. The desktop now installs to a path without spaces (/opt/NovaAudioAgentDesktop) and appears as "Nova Audio Agent Desktop".
• Cleaner macOS app bundle. Signature and integrity metadata are refreshed after the native components are sealed, so the packaged app verifies cleanly with codesign --verify --strict.
• Complete English interface. The Feishu connection steps and IM setup instructions are fully translated.
• Clearer docs and website. The README, architecture overview and website now present Nova as a personal agent, with conversation and tasks side by side.

Nova Audio Agent v0.3.0 grows Nova from a voice assistant into a personal agent: one workbench for your day, tasks that are checked before they are called done, and memory built only from the sources you authorize.

Highlights

• One Workbench for your day. Todos, Ideas, Goals, Feeds, Tasks and Profile sit beside the conversation with Nova. The orb stays as the collapsed form, and background mode keeps tasks running with the window hidden.
• Tasks you can check. Delegated work carries acceptance criteria. Nova verifies the evidence before reporting completion, and you can take over a task and hand it back at any time.
• Context from your own sources. Authorized folders (or the whole computer), Apple Mail and Calendar, Google Mail and Calendar, and Feishu. Access is read-only and starts only after you consent.
• Memory you can audit. Personal memory is a local ledger. Each entry shows where it came from and can be traced, corrected, forgotten or purged.
• Suggestions, news and daily briefs. Candidates for Todos, Ideas and Goals wait for your confirmation. An interest-ranked news feed and project recap cards cite their sources. Optional morning and evening briefs cover Todos, calendar events and mentions, and with your consent direct Feishu @mentions become Todos.
• More ways to talk. Realtime voice from Qwen (Audio 3.1), OpenAI and Gemini, plus StepAudio 3 (preview). Cascaded pipelines can combine Volcengine, Gemini and your own self-hosted ASR, LLM and TTS, with shareable voice presets. Volcengine voiceprint verification can restrict voice commands to your voice.

Notes

• Your settings and data are kept across the upgrade. Going back to an older version does not roll back data changes, so back up your Nova data first.
• Configuration migration: rename SURROGATE_MODEL to SUPPORT_MODEL. The old variable is no longer read, and startup prints a warning if it is still set. See the configuration guide.
• Coding tasks need a signed-in Codex installation. Model, search and connector features use the credentials you configure; features without credentials stay off.
• The desktop CLI needs Node.js 22.13 or newer; the headless server package needs 22.14 or newer.

Nova Audio Agent v0.3.0-preview.1

Nova grows from a voice assistant into a personal agent. This preview is distributed separately from the stable release.

• npm installation and application startup checks on all three desktop platforms.
