Releases: dehydrated1/crosstalk-releases
Release list
Crosstalk 0.1.0-beta.19
Crosstalk is a desktop project room where you work with your coding agents as a team: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Kimi and DeepSeek. Chat with them, have them hand work to each other and review each other's plans, and approve what they do on your computer.
New in beta.19
- See what the agents are thinking. When an agent shares reasoning, it appears beside its reply and folds away once the reply starts.
- Claude: thinking summaries, with Claude Code 2.1.282 or later.
- Codex: reasoning summaries.
- Kimi and DeepSeek: reasoning text. Gemini's CLI currently shares none.
- DeepSeek can join, as a read-only discussion and review participant. It runs on Kimi Code with your own DeepSeek API key.
- In Setup, choose Add API key, paste the key into the window that opens (it isn't shown as you type), then choose Add to room.
- Kimi joins the same way, with Sign in for a kimi.ai account. Its replies need a Kimi Code plan on that account.
- Both are read-only: neither can edit files or run commands. Don't treat the project folder as a privacy boundary; keep secrets out of projects you test with.
- New agent versions are checked automatically. The Antigravity CLI and Kimi Code can update themselves. Before, a new version turned the agent off until the next Crosstalk.
- Now Crosstalk checks a new version before admitting it, using short turns on your own account. A check usually takes a few minutes and can run for up to 20 minutes; the agent waits for a passing result.
- Antigravity CLI 1.2.14 and Kimi Code 2.1.1 are already checked.
- Stop cancels the room request, but a shared check that's already running may continue and use your allowance. Quitting Crosstalk cancels it.
- Mac updates can install themselves. From this version on, the Mac app downloads a new version in the background, checks it, and installs it when you quit or with Restart to update, as on Windows.
- This works when Crosstalk is in a folder you can write to, such as Applications, and wasn't opened from the disk image. Otherwise the update is offered as a download, as before.
- If macOS refuses the install, Crosstalk opens that version's download page instead of retrying.
- You install this version by hand; the next update is the first one it can install itself.
- Safer (from a security review):
- Mac updates are checked again right before they're installed. The old app is swapped out only after the new copy checks out, and is put back if the swap fails.
- Signing in rejects an empty API key and works with any user-folder name.
Also new since beta.14
- Gemini can edit. It describes each change, and Crosstalk applies it inside your project. Ask first (the default) shows you each change; Auto edits applies them. Gemini never runs commands, and it can be the one writer.
- Gemini's model and effort. Open Gemini in the sidebar to choose a model and its effort.
- Math in replies. LaTeX shows as math. Dollar amounts stay text.
- Plain language. Messages say what happened and what to do. The exact technical message is still one click away, under Details.
- One warning per problem, shown once where it lives. Needs you lists it once.
- Always a way out.
- An agent that needs a new session says so, with Start new session right beside the message.
- Quitting while an agent was editing (in One writer mode) no longer locks that edit.
- Longer replies. Crosstalk's room timer allows 30 minutes without agent activity and pauses while you answer an approval. The agents' own connections have shorter limits: Codex may be interrupted after 10 minutes of active turn time, and Kimi or DeepSeek requests may time out after five minutes.
- Safer approvals (from Codex's review):
- Gemini: Stop cancels a change even if you click Allow afterwards.
- Claude: each command is approved on its own.
- Sync: turning it off stops work already in progress.

| Platform | File |
|---|---|
| Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) | Crosstalk-Setup-0.1.0-beta.19.exe |
| macOS, Apple Silicon (M1 and later) | Crosstalk-0.1.0-beta.19-arm64.dmg |
| macOS, Intel | Crosstalk-0.1.0-beta.19-x64.dmg |
The .zip, .blockmap and .yml files are for the app's updater; you don't need them. Each file's SHA-256 checksum is listed with it below, and on the download page at https://crosstalkai.dev/download/.
You also need the agents' command-line tools, installed and signed in with your own accounts. Crosstalk doesn't include any model access.
- Claude Code (
claude) and the Codex CLI (codex login). In this build, opening a new room requires both Claude Code and Codex to start successfully; add the other agents through Setup. - For Gemini, the Antigravity CLI.
- Windows, in PowerShell:
irm https://antigravity.google/cli/install.ps1 | iex - macOS:
curl -fsSL https://antigravity.google/cli/install.sh | bash - Then run
agyonce to sign in.
- Windows, in PowerShell:
- For DeepSeek or Kimi, Kimi Code.
- Windows, in PowerShell:
irm https://code.kimi.com/kimi-code/install.ps1 | iex. On Windows, Kimi Code also needs Git for Windows. - macOS:
curl -fsSL https://code.kimi.com/kimi-code/install.sh | bash - Then add your key or sign in from Crosstalk's Setup.
- Windows, in PowerShell:
Git is needed for Undo, parallel tasks and the Git panel.
Opening it the first time
The Windows installer isn't code-signed yet, and the Mac app isn't notarized yet, so your system may warn or block it. Check the file's SHA-256 checksum first, and don't turn off your system's protections.
- Windows: SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC". If you trust the source and the checksum matches, choose More info, then Run anyway if that option is available. If it isn't, report the block.
- macOS: drag Crosstalk to Applications and open it from there.
- If macOS says it can't verify the developer or check the app for malware, and the checksum matches, try opening it once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway if available. Confirm Open when prompted. If the option isn't available, report the block.
- If macOS says the app is damaged, stop: download the installer again and compare its checksum before reinstalling. If the warning returns, report it with the exact message and your macOS version.
Tested
Anything not listed here hasn't been tested with this version yet.
- Windows 11, 64-bit: the automated tests, the interface checks and the packaged-app check, plus live checks with real agents on this version's code:
- Claude Code 2.1.287 and Codex CLI 0.159.2: Claude handed a question to Codex and got its answer back. Claude's thinking summaries and Codex's reasoning summaries both arrived.
- Gemini, on Antigravity CLI 1.2.14: the full live check passed (15 of 15): its sealed profile held, every attempt to create, edit, delete, run or browse on its own was refused, and an edit Crosstalk applied after asking changed only that file.
- DeepSeek, on Kimi Code 2.1.1: the full live check passed (17 of 17), including a refused attempt to read outside the project.
- Kimi: sign-in only. Its replies weren't tested, because the test account has no Kimi Code plan.
- macOS, Apple Silicon: the automated tests and the packaged-app check, on GitHub's Mac, and a hands-on check on a MacBook Pro, which found no problems.
- macOS, Intel: built, not tested.
Known limits
- Opening a room needs Claude Code and Codex in this build. Gemini, Kimi and DeepSeek can then be added through Setup.
- Undo and parallel tasks: Windows only for now.
- New agent versions of the Antigravity CLI and Kimi Code are checked before admission. Checks use your account, usually take a few minutes and may run for up to 20 minutes.
- Kimi needs a Kimi Code plan. DeepSeek needs a DeepSeek API key with credit.
- No Linux build yet.

Crosstalk 0.1.0-beta.14
Crosstalk is a desktop project room where you work with Claude Code and Codex as a team, now with Gemini as a third voice. Chat with them, have them hand work to each other and review each other's changes, and approve what they do on your computer.
New in beta.14: Gemini with Antigravity CLI 1.2.13
Antigravity updated itself to 1.2.13. Crosstalk checked that version the same way as 1.2.12 (every attempt to create, edit, delete or run something refused; the project unchanged), so Gemini works with both. Beta.13 was never published.
Gemini (new in beta.13)
Gemini joins the room through Google's Antigravity CLI (agy), which replaced Gemini CLI for personal Google accounts in June 2026.
- What Gemini does: it reads your project and discusses, plans and reviews with Claude, Codex and you. Mention
@gemini, or use@everyone. Like the other agents, it can hand work to them. - What it can't do: Gemini can't change your project.
- Crosstalk runs Antigravity with sealed settings of its own: writing files, running commands, opening URLs in a browser, and MCP servers are all denied. Your own Antigravity settings, plugins, hooks and MCP servers aren't loaded.
- A tool outside the vetted set (browser control, messages, notebooks, images…) stops its turn at once.
- Checked live before release: every attempt to create, edit, delete or run something was refused, and the project stayed byte-for-byte unchanged.
- Projects that bring their own Antigravity hooks, MCP servers or plugins (in a
.agentsfolder) can't be sealed, so Gemini doesn't join there. Setup's project scan shows them. - To use it: install the Antigravity CLI and sign in once with Google. Then go to Setup → More agents → Gemini → Add to room.
- Windows (PowerShell):
irm https://antigravity.google/cli/install.ps1 | iex - macOS:
curl -fsSL https://antigravity.google/cli/install.sh | bash - Then run
agyonce to sign in.
- Windows (PowerShell):
- Your Google account's plan applies, as it does for Claude and Codex.

The .zip, .blockmap and .yml files are for the app's updater; you don't need them.
You also need the agents' own command-line tools, installed and signed in:
- Claude Code (
claude) and the Codex CLI (codex login); - for Gemini, the Antigravity CLI (above).
Crosstalk runs them with your accounts. Git is needed for Undo, parallel tasks and the Git panel.

If macOS instead says the app is damaged, stop: download the installer again and compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one listed with the file before reinstalling. If the warning returns, report it with the exact message and your macOS version.
Also in Crosstalk
- Sync between your computers (beta.12): settings and conversation history through a private repository in your GitHub account, encrypted with your passphrase. Setup → Sync.
- Permissions like the real CLIs: Read only, Ask first or Auto edits per agent. Approval requests are shown in Crosstalk according to the selected permission level and the CLI’s approval rules. Commands classified as safe reads may run without a prompt, and Auto edits allows project edits without individual approval.
- Editing and history: change cards with diffs and Undo (Windows for now), parallel tasks (Windows for now), and Git commit, branches and pull requests.
- Rooms and messages: a room per project folder, attachments, and automatic turns with auto mode.
- Everyday tools:
- the command palette (Ctrl+K, or ⌘K);
- editing a queued message;
- model and effort pickers;
- token budgets;
- catch-up summaries;
- nine color themes.
Known limits of this beta
- Gemini is new and hasn't had its second review yet.
- It reads but can't browse: opening pages in a browser is blocked, and plain web reads are refused by Antigravity's own approval step.
- New Antigravity versions stay off: each version is verified before Gemini runs with it, so after an Antigravity update Gemini stays off until the next Crosstalk release checks that version.
- macOS: Undo and parallel tasks aren't available yet. Use Git to undo changes on a Mac.
- Kimi and opencode are still turned off, until their configuration isolation is verified.
- No Linux build yet.
Corrected on 2026-10-01: the permissions line overstated what asks for approval, and the damaged-app step no longer removes macOS’s download check.
Crosstalk 0.1.0-beta.12
Crosstalk is a desktop project room where you work with Claude Code and Codex as a team. Chat with both, have them hand work to each other and review each other's changes, and approve what they do on your computer.
New in beta.12: sync between your computers
Keep your settings and conversation history the same on your Windows PC and your Mac. Turning it on is optional.
- Turning it on: open Setup → Sync → Set up sync… and choose a passphrase (at least 12 characters). On your other computer, enter the same passphrase to join.
- Where it's stored: in a private repository in your own GitHub account,
crosstalk-sync, which Crosstalk creates the first time. It uses the GitHub CLI you're signed in to. Install it from cli.github.com, then rungh auth login. Crosstalk never sees your GitHub token. - Encrypted on your computer: everything is encrypted with your passphrase before it leaves the computer. The passphrase isn't stored anywhere and can't be recovered, so keep it safe.
- What syncs:
- settings: theme, notifications, token budget, turns, auto mode, permissions and models;
- each room's conversation. Attachments sync by name only; their contents stay on the computer.
- Conversations from your other computers are listed in Setup. Read one, or Continue here: Crosstalk opens this computer's copy of that project and attaches the conversation to a first message, which you review and send.

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Crosstalk.app
Also in Crosstalk
- One conversation with both agents:
@claude,@codexor@everyone, streamed replies, and handoffs between agents that you can follow. - Room modes: Debate, Brainstorm, Review and Build, each a three-turn exchange between two agents.
- Permissions like the real CLIs: Read only, Ask first (the default) or Auto edits, for each agent.
- Agents ask before commands and edits. Each request shows the full command, where it runs, and any extra access it needs.
- Your answers: Allow once, Allow for this session (exactly that action, revocable in Setup), or Deny. Nothing skips your approval.
- Editing your project: let the agents decide who edits, or pick one writer and get a change card with a diff and Undo for every turn (Undo on Windows for now).
- Parallel tasks (Windows for now): an agent works in a private copy of the project, and you review and merge its changes.
- Git: commit with a suggested message, a branch per task, and push & open a pull request.
- A room per project folder, saved between launches.
- Attachments: send images and text files with a message.
- Automatic turns: each request gets a turn allowance (4 by default), with Continue and an optional auto mode. Auto mode stops by itself if the agents start repeating themselves.
- Command palette (Ctrl+K, or ⌘K on a Mac), and editing a queued message before any agent starts on it.
- Also:
- a model and effort picker;
- a token burn gauge with optional budgets;
- catch-up summaries when you come back;
- calm notifications;
- nine color themes.
Updates
- Windows: Crosstalk checks this page and installs new versions itself. The update downloads in the background and installs when you quit, or right away with Restart to update.
- macOS: a banner tells you when a new version is available and links here.
Known limits of this beta
- Sync is new and hasn't had its second review yet. Neither have permissions, a room per folder, attachments, loop detection, the command palette or queue editing.
- Sync:
- The repository grows with use: each upload is a new encrypted copy of a conversation.
- Clocks decide ties: if two computers change the same setting, the later change wins, so their clocks should be right.
- macOS:
- Undo and parallel tasks aren't available yet: their file operations can't yet be guaranteed to stay inside the project folder there, so the app says so and changes nothing. Use Git to undo changes on a Mac.
- Please report anything that doesn't work.
- Kimi, opencode and Gemini are turned off for now, until their configuration isolation is verified.
- No Linux build yet.

Updates
On Windows, Crosstalk checks this page and installs new versions itself: the update downloads in the background and installs when you quit (or right away with Restart to update). On macOS, a banner tells you when a new version is available and links here.
Known limits of this beta
- The newest features (permissions, a room per folder, attachments, loop detection, the command palette and queue editing) haven't had their second review yet.
