🐛 Known Limitations

  • Compilation time depends on the project size and installed packages.

  • Select the main Python entry file
  • Choose a custom output directory
  • Include project assets, folders, and data files
  • Configure supported Nuitka plugins

📦 Linux Download

Download the Linux package from the Assets section below.

For Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Zorin OS, and other Debian-based systems, download the .deb package.

Install it by double-clicking the package or by running:

sudo apt install ./nuitka-studio_3.9.0_amd64.deb

You can also use:

sudo dpkg -i nuitka-studio_3.9.0_amd64.deb
sudo apt install -f

After installation, open Nuitka Studio from your application menu.

⚙️ Requirements
A supported 64-bit Linux distribution
Python 3
Nuitka
A C compiler such as GCC
Python development packages
Tkinter or the required graphical-interface dependencies

On Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or Debian-based systems, common build requirements can be installed with:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install python3 python3-pip python3-venv python3-dev build-essential patchelf
🐍 Recommended Python Setup

Linux distributions may block system-wide pip installation. Create a virtual environment instead:

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
python -m pip install --upgrade pip
python -m pip install nuitka

Select the virtual environment's Python interpreter inside Nuitka Studio when building your project.

🐛 Known Limitations
Linux builds must normally be created on Linux.
A Linux build cannot directly produce a native Windows .exe.
Some projects require additional system development packages.
One-file mode can take longer to launch because files are extracted first.
Applications compiled on a newer Linux distribution may not run on significantly older distributions.
Desktop integration may vary between Cinnamon, GNOME, KDE Plasma, and other environments.

For a cleaner release structure, publish Windows and Linux separately using `v1.0.0-windows` and `v1.0.0-linux`, then attach the matching installer to each release.
